Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa yang masih rendah. Pembelajaran pendekatan problemposing merupakan pendekatan pembelajaran yang melatih siswa untuk merumuskan ataumengajukan masalah dari situasi yang tersedia kemudian melakukan penyelesaian terhadap pertanyaan atau masalah yang diajukan tersebut. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian quasi eksperimental. Desainpenelitianuntukaspekkognitifadalahnonequivalentpretest posttest control group design, sedangkanuntukaspekafektifmenggunakandesainposttest only control group design. Populasidalampenelitianiniadalahseluruhsiswakelas VIII padasalahsatu SMP negeri di kota Bandung tahunajaran 2015/2016yang terdiri dari 8 kelas. Sampeldiambildenganteknikpurposivesampling. Sampelyang digunakan yaitu 2kelas dengan jumlah total 67 siswa. Analisis data dilakukandenganmenggunakanuji-t, uji t’ dan
Mann Whitney-Udenganbantuan program SPSS. Hasilpenelitianmenunjukan: (1) Pencapaiandanpeningkatankemampuanpemecahanmasalahsiswa yang memperolehpembelajarandenganpendekatanproblem

This research was motivated by the problem solving ability of students which was not satisfactory. Problem posing is a learning approach that trains students to formulate or raise questions from the issue of the given situation and then to do settlement toward the question or problem that is proposed. This research was a quasi-experimental. The research design for cognitive aspects was nonequivalent pretest posttest control group design, while for the affective aspect was posttest only control group design. The populations in this study were all of the VIIIthgrade students at one of junior high schools in Bandung City, 2015/2016 academic year which consisting of 8 classes. The sample was taken usingthe purposive sampling technique. The sample was two classes with a total of 67 students. Data analysis was performed using t-test, t’test and Mann-Whitney test using SPSS for Windows. The results of this study showed: (1) The achievement and improvement of problem-solving ability of the students who acquired learning by problem posing approach is significantly higher than the students who acquired learning by direct approach. (2) In each category of early mathematical ability, high, medium or low, the achievement and improvement of problem-solving ability of the students who acquired learning by problem posing approach is significantly higher than the achievement and improvement of problem solving ability of the students who acquired learning by direct approach. (3) The attitude of the students who acquired learning by problem posing approach was not significantly better than the students who acquired learning by direct approach. (4)The attitude of students who acquired learning by problem posing approach is in the “sufficient” category. The aspect of patience and persistence are more prominent than the aspect of perseverance, willingness and confidence of students during learning in solving problems.
