In case no names are presented or tbose presented are unsatisfactory to the Board, an appoint- ment may be made by tbe unanimous vote of the Advisory Board. Tbe graduate or faculty manager shall be bonded to the Association to the extent of $500, The graduate or faculty manager sball receive such remunerations for his services and ex- penses as may be approved by the advisory board, and sucb remuneration sball be paid from any funlls received by the advisory board for the promotion of athletics. AllTICI,E IV-DUTIES OF OFFICIALS Section 1. The preshlent shall preside at meetings of the Association and of the Council. AIt'rICI,E V.-ATHLETIC ELIGIBILITY ,Section 1. A candidate for a position on a team shall present himself to the chair- man of the Athletic Committee and sign the following declaration:

I herein further assert tJ.at while in College, I will enter into no athletic contests other than those that appear on the athletic calendar of Alfred University, or such special cases as may be decided on their merits by the Athletic Com- mittee.

Section 2. Any student to be eligible to a team of this Association must be a bona- fide registered student, carrying a schedule during the term of at least ten hours' work a week in college; or 15 hours per week, during the term in the State School of Agriculture, and maintaining It at satisfactory grades.

Section 3. At the ooginning of each season the graduate manager shall file with each Instructor a list of names from whlcll the personnel of the team shall be chosen.

AH'l'ICI.E VI.-BY-LAWS OF BOARD GOV- ERNING INSIGNIA AND HONOUS Section 1. The major sports are Foot- ball, Basketball, Baseball, and Track. The minor sports are Tennis and Wrestling, . Section 2. Every .athlete who is entitled to a first team Insignia in either major or minor' sports; shall receive a certificate designating t'1e authority for wearing the letter. Tllis certifiea te shall be signed by the chairman of tile athletic committee (fac- nlty), the coach and the president of tile 'athletic council.

SectIon 3. The insignias for major sports 'are block A's, the football A to be 9" x 9", the basketball, baseball and tra<'k A's to be 9" x 7". All second team insignia for major sports are three incb block A's within a triangle.

Any athlete partiCipating In intercollegi- ate sports must play In one-half the playing time cad] season to win tbe major In- signia except on the approval of the Atb- letic Council after recommendations by tbe Coach.
