From the table 4.6 that show the result of Sig. (2-tailed) is at 0.000 which is indicate that alternative hypothesis (H1) can be accepted and the null hypothesis is rejected. This things means that using ELSA Speak Application can improve Student English speaking.

Speaking is a person's way or ability to express feelings and thoughts.

Basically all the elements contained in English lessons are important, one of which is speaking skill. Speaking is needed in everyday life so we must master one language. This section discusses the results of data analysis obtained by researcher. To get the results of this study the researcher used three steps as follows :

The first step in carrying out this research is to do a pre-test. The pre-test was conducted using the method of describing someone who inspires. The way the researcher evaluates the grammar, content, pronunciation, vocabulary and fluency of students is using the assessment rubric on page 29. The results of the pre-test show 54,2 as the mean score which means that the students' speaking ability is classified as poor. In this case, it was found that the students' speaking ability was still very lacking. The results of the pre test showed that none of the students got very good and excellent classification. One of the problems of students who are not fluent in English is the lack of confidence and lack of interest in learning English. The Researcher can conclude that there is still a lack of student interest in learning to speak English in the current era. The purpose of this step is to measure the scores that students have before got treatment using the ELSA Speak application.

In this second step, the researcher applied for twice treatments to the students using the ELSA Speak application. The first treatment, the researcher explained about the ELSA Speak application and how to use it to students.

Because the research that took place face-to-face at UPT SPF SMPN 17 Makassar did not allow students to bring cellphones to school, the researcher only used 2

cellphones as teaching media tools. In the first treatment, the researcher asked students to follow the dialogue contained in the ELSA Speak application. Then the researcher called the students one by one to practice directly by looking at the dialogue text. In the second treatment, the researcher repeated the same incident by asking students to follow the dialogue text in the ELSA Speak application.

Then the researcher asked the students to practice at home and send the results via WhatsApp. The purpose of each of these treatments is to educate students and also to analyze whether the ELSA Application can be useful for learning how to speak English and improving speaking skills.

After the treatment was carried out, the Researcher then conducted a post- test to measure the students' speaking skills after the treatment. The researcher repeats the same process as in the pre test. Based on the results collected by the researchers, students got a score of 76.30 as the mean score. The mean score on the student's post-test is classified as good. At this step, the students demonstrate their ability to speak clearly and well.

It can be concluded that the ELSA Speaking application provides an increase in students' speaking skills as measured by scores. Some students showed a significant improvement after being given the treatment twice. It was proven that the ELSA Speak application is very easy to understand and the students enjoy learning to speak in English. The ELSA Speak application can attract students' interest in learning to speak English because it has many features that make it easier for students to understand it.

Table 4.1 describes that the pre-test scores of 33 students had a mean score of 54,2. After being given treatment, it can be seen from the post-test in table 4.3

that almost every student's score increased to mean score of 76,3 using the classification from the DEPDIKBUD, this score includes the good classification.

From the table 4.5 that were this two thing being compare (Pre-test and Post-test) showing the result that ELSA Speak Apps can improve the student speaking ability. The advantage of using the ELSA Speak application is that it can attract students' interest in learning English, especially speaking. The students are no longer afraid to speak the wrong way because the application is given a very detailed explanation.
