55 DISCUSSION

This chapter presents the discussion of research findings related to the research objectives. The researcher obtained the data through questionnaires and interviews. The data obtained in the form of the students' voice (interview and questionnaire were conducted online via (WhatsApp).

A. Perceived Effectivenes Of Using Mind Mapping Tehnique For Learning Writing essay argumentative

According to Rao (2007) writing helps to motivate students' thinking, organize ideas, and develop their ability to summarize, analyze and criticize as well as strengthening students' learning, thinking and reflecting on the English language.46 Out of the application of mind mapping technique in the writing skill, it could be seen that mind mapping technique could motivate the students to be actively involved in the teaching-learning process of writing subject. They could contribute information, knowledge, and experience they already have to generate and develop ideas and concepts related or associated with the topic. It is in line with(Buzan 2000) in Al-Jarf's (2008) opinion that.47 Based on findings above mind mapping technique can motivated and interes students to learning writing argumentative essays, the mind mapping not difficult to applicated the technique for students'. This improvement is the result of the implementation of Mind Maps which able to attract the students' interest in

learning English, especially in writing. The students enjoy learning writing with Mind Maps because the students can exploring their ideas through their creativity using lines, branches, pictures, and colors in mind mapping. To boost students motivation to write an essay argumentative, after finding a topic, students can start from anywhere and do not have to be afraid of making mistakes. Mind mapping method is a more interesting technique than other some reasons why mind mapping can help students increase their ability in writing because mind mapping is easier to understand, can organize the students' idea, make students motivating to learning writing

Based on the findings, mind mapping can improve students confidence significantly, mind mapping has many benefit for students which is improve students self-confidence with the idea classification makes students written essay well, because of that students can presentation their own in front of the class. Mind Mapping is a simple, interesting, and motivating technique to learning writing essay. Several of these participants attributed the fun aspect to the opportunity to be creative when creating Mind Maps through lots of choice in color, symbols, keywords, and design.48

The mind map is a powerful graphic, and strategy that can facilitate the students to develop ideas and concepts, it could help the students to write.49 The students reported that the rough ideas in bubbles helped them to plan

their writing more easily. Furthermore, the content of the paragraph could be classified well when the students made mind mapping. As a result, the students' writing Mind mapping technique mind mapping is not only useful to help students writing a complex composition of a certain type of text. It can help with almost any type of text. It even helps students to draw a grammatical schematic. It also does not merely have to use words and phrases but also pictures, charts, or anything as long as they represented what students have in mind. to get ideas gathered, by jotting down anything that comes up in their mind they get ideas together as well, planning and outlining: by drawing the associative lines the can plan their future composition and it is also possible for them to directly give numbers or other signs on the lines or words. Mind Maps successfully improve students' writing skills seen from the improvement in all indicators; motivtaed and interest students, self confident, organizing ideas, developing ideas, and using the correct mechanism and the last is eficiacy.

According to Holland et al established Mind Mapping to be a valuable technique for helping someone plan and structure projects and assignments more effectively.50 A Mind Map can help students think with greater clarity to explore relationships between ideas and elements of an argument and to generate solutions to problems. It gives a new perspective on things by allowed students to see all the relevant topics and evaluate choices in light

of the big picture of mind maps. further becomes easier to integrate new information and organize data logically as students are not tied to a rigid structure.

In adition, Mind Maps successfully improve students’ writing skills seen from the improvement in all indicators; organizing ideas, developing ideas, and using correct mechanism and also eficiancy.51 Based on the findings' Mind mapping technique is effective to improve students writing in essay argumentative. The mind mapping strategy is easy, interesting, simple, and arousing students' creativity in developing and organizing their ideas, students are getting more active and more encouraged to study writing and increase students writing ability an essay argumentative.

B. Students Challenges For Using Mind Mapping In Learning Writing Process

From the students' experience we took some of the information about the challenges before students using mind mapping technique there are the students' difficulties to drow the maps and gruping word. In the data, findings mind mapping for beginners is made students' confused to draw the maps because they can not drow the maps correctly, students harder to students feel very challenged by drawing mind maps because for beginners in the mind mapping method to improve the writing skills they are very difficult to draw a mind map for that according to the rest in the

questionnaire under them is very difficult. here is the students' response about drawing the mind maps. Some of the students disagree with using mind mapping is efficient they think mind mapping wasting time because they don't like to drow the structure of the map, based on students reaction above one of the big challenges when students using mind mapping to improve learno9ng writing process is when the teacher asked students to draw the structure of the map, the students think they not creative to drow the good mind maps. So they don't like using mind mapping to improve the learning writing process.

Keywords are big aspects in mind mapping picture, so keywords are very important, keywords are the mind idea when the students' start to makes sentences with the keywords in mind mapping helps students to easier to makes a paragraph, but this keyword is challenged to students because they difficult to search the words to put the mind maps picture, here are the students respond about the grouping words. From the result above, students difficulty choosing the word to put in mind mapping picture, students said that grouping words is one of the challenges when I am using mind mapping to improve students writing skill, finding the right words to make the perfect idea of writing is very difficult to do.

CHAPTER IV

CONCLUSSION AND SUGGESTION

This chapter presents the conclusion and suggestion of this research. The conclusion derived from the findings of the research explained on the chapter two.

The suggestions were addressed to the English students, English lecturers, and future researchers.

a. Conclussion

From the result of this study, the researcher concluded that, the Mindmapping can motivated and interes students to learning writing argumentative essays, mind mapping is an effective technique for teaching writing. Mindmapping technique is simple, fun, and arousing students’

creativity in generating and organizing their ideas, students are getting more active and more encouraged to study writing and improved their writing skills.

Students can easier to classifycation the idea, The students enjoy learning writing with Mind Maps because the students can exploring their ideas through their creativity.

Mind Maps also can improve students confident significantly, mind mapping has many benefit for students which is improve students self- confidence. The use of mind mapping technique could improve the students’writing achievemen. by using mind mapping during prewriting stage, the students could generate and develop the ideas and information. Mind mapping tehnique is effective to improve students writing in essay argumentative.

A Mind Map can help students think with greater clarity to explore relationships between ideas and elements of an argument and to generate solutions to problems. It puts a new perspective on things by allowing you to see all the relevant issues and analyse choices in light of the big picture. This

improvement is the result of the implementation of Mind Maps which able to attract the students’ interest in learning English, especially in writing. Mind Maps successfully improve students’ writing skills seen from the improvement in all indicators; organizing ideas, developing ideas, and using correct mechanism and also eficiancy.

Based on discussion above the challenges for students in using mind mapping technique there are the students' difficulties to drow the maps and gruping word, students' confused to draw the maps because they can not drow the maps correctly, students harder to students feel very challenged by drawing mind maps, keywords in mind mapping helps students to easier to makes a paragraph, but this keyword is challenged to students because they difficult to search the words to put the mind maps picture

b. Suggestion

Based on the discussion of research, the researcher presents several suggestions for the English learners, English lecturers, and future researchers.

1. English learners

Mindmapping is a simple technique which can be used for writing activities. It is not only helpful in teaching and learning process in the classroom. Mindmapping is also useful in other writing activities to generate and organize ideas, opinion and thoughts. So, the researcher suggests that all students learn how to use it. This research is expected to be a reference for the English learners in improving their ability in learning

writing argumentative essay. So, they can be more learning about mind mapping consep and writing esssay using mind mapping technique.

2. English lecturers

The lecturers should explain more about mind mapping technique and the consep of using mind mapping in learning writing process to their students in English language education study program by choosing the best strategy that suitable with the students’ condition.

3. Future researchers

The researcher hopes that the future researcher will conduct a better research related to the using mind mapping to improve students writing skill. In addition, the researcher also hopes that the future researcher will conduct the research deeper about perceived effectivenes of using mind mapping to improve studenst writing skill.
