CHAPTER III RESEARCH METHOD RESEARCH METHOD

A. Finding

After the concluding the research, the researcher obtained the data, the result of questionnaire. The result present the interpretation as follow :

1. Students anxiety in their writing skill.

a. Item 1

Table 4.1 While writing in English, I’m not nervous at all.

Table 4.1 showed that 5 students (17%) said “strongly agree”, 15 students (50%) said “agree”, 5 students (17%) said “undecided”, 5 students (17%) said “disagree”, and 0 student said “strongly diasagree”.

So, it can be concluded that the most students at the fifth smester at Muhammadiyah University of Makassar they agree that while writing in English, they are not nervous at all.

b. Item 2

Table 4.2 showed that 5 students (17%) said “strongly agree”, 16 students (53%) said “agree”, 5 students (17%) said “undecided”, 4 students (13%) said “disagree”, 0 student (0%) said “strongly disagree”.

So, it can be concluded that the most students at the fifth semester at Muhammadiyah University of Makassar they agree that the feel they heart pounding when they write English with a time limit.

So, it can be concluded that the most students at the fifth semsester at Muhammadiyah University of Makassar they agree that when writing English, they feel worried and uncomfortable if know they will be evaluated.

d. Item 4

“strongly disagree”. So, it can be concluded that the students at the fifth semsester at Muhammadiyah University of Makassar were has balance between agree and undecided that they often choose to write my thoughts in English.

2. The mean score of students questionnaire

From 30 students, total score of the questionnaire was 2039 and total number of the table were 20. So the mean score

The calculating above shows that the mean score of the writing anxiety of students in academic writing was 67,96 it indicates that the students agreed that there writing anxiety in EFL to students in learning.
