GIFTS TO THE UNIVERSITY

The demands upon institutions of learning arc broadening, yem' hy year, and equipment and endowment must be increased to keep pace '\vith the demands. Alfred forms no exception to the rule. 'With the assistance of her friends, she has been enabled to meet all requirements in the past. Relying upon a continuation of that kindly interest in her work, there is here presented for consideration, a variety of channels in which substantial aiel m meeting the dcmands of the future may be directed:

Twenty thousand TH E ENDOWMENT OF SCHOLARSHIPS to pay the term hills of worthy, but needy, students. One thousand dollars will endow a scholarship.

;\. scholarship may be instituted cotlditional1ybythepayment down of one hundred dollars, and l{ept alive by the payment of not less than twcnty-fivc dollars every t\VO years thereafter, until one thousand dollars have been paid; and the beneficiary will be credited on his tuition charges with thc income of the fund: but if twenty-five dollars or more be added to the princi- pal annually, then thc bcncficiary will be granted free tuition.
