Research procedures as follows:

1. Holding a pre-test ( ) which the total number of questions was 30 fill-in- the-blank questions with the duration will be 80 minutes.

2. Treatment (×)

The treatment was done as follow:

a. The first meeting:

1) The research explained the general description about shadowing technique and also the students were being given motivation toward the students about how important listening skills in learning language especially English.

2) The treatment was given by the researcher, the class was taught by using shadowing technique in listening and the task of answering the question formed fill-in-the-blank.

3) After that, the steps of shadowing were conducted. In the first step, the research played the audio related to the question formed fill-in-the-blank (part 1 and part 2). In the second step, the audio was played and paused sentence by sentence and directly followed by students. After it was done 5 times, the

third step was the researcher played the audio once and asked the students to write down the words they didn`t know about the vowel (short/long) and its spelling (how to rewrite).

4) The researcher gave the exercise question and played the audio again and the students started to fill the question and then the question was collected by the research.

5) After the questions had been collected, the researcher gave the text of the audio to be reviewed to make the students recognize the word they didn`t know before.

b. Second meeting:

1) The treatment was given by the researcher, the class was taught by using shadowing technique in listening class and the task of answering the question formed fill-in-the-blank.
