CHAPTER IV FINDINGS AND DISCUSSION
B. Research Findings
The research finding was taken from the result on the observation of teaching-learning process, interviews, and document review related to the research questions.
Researcher was able to analyze the data in qualitative descriptive after collecting data by using interview, document review, and observation.
Researcher described, elaborated and interpreted data so that became whole description.Here are the explanations:
1. The goal of teaching speaking skill through Whisper Chinese Game at the seventh grade of MTs Rohmatul Umam Lumajang
The researcher found in the teaching process that before the teacher described the material, the researcher explained about the objectives of learning English speaking with game. The goals mentioned by the teacher were: the student could speak English fluently, easy to speak English, had a good speaking, Student interested in teaching and learning speaking skill through whisper Chinese game at the seventh of
MTs Rohmatul Umam Lumajang, students are also easier to explain and convey information clearly. student also easier to speak simple sentence in English.
The researcher concluded that the goals of teaching speaking skill through whisper Chinese game at the seventh of MTs Rohmatul Umam Lumajang were:
a. Student spoke English fluently b. Student had good speaking
c. Student were interested in learning English speaking use whisper Chinese game
d. Student were also easier to imitate the words or sentences from the game that was used.
Researcher found in the teaching process that before the teacher detailing the material, he explained about the purpose of speaking using the whisper Chinese game. The goals mentioned by the teacher are:
student could speak English fluent, had good speaking skill.
The preliminary study was conducted on April 25, 2022 which started with observing the speaking skill of student MTs. Rohmatul Umam Lumajang. Before the teacher joint to the class, the researcher asked about “How is the goal of teaching speaking skill through Whisper Chinese Game at the seventh grade of MTs Rohmatul Umam Lumajang?”
Mrs. Fitriyah said that the goal I gave to them was devinition of speaking skill and wishper Chinese game. And explain how to make them more active in speaking in the class, and make a fun with the game. They
have to be seriously understand the rules, know what the teacher means, and feel enjoy in the game.43
Based on the interview above, it can be concluded that the purpose of teaching speaking skill through whisper Chinese game were : 1) Student were able to become more active. 2) The student were able to have enthusiasm seriousness in doing every activity in English learning process. 3) Student were able to understand what the teacher explanation.
The same thing was also conveyed by a student named Andika a grade VII student of MTs Rohmatul Umam said that: “When using the whisper Chinese game, they become more active and enthusiastic in learning English. Student also found it easier to speak English anywhere and in any case. Dare to speak in public is important and needed.”44
Based on preliminary observation and interview with the teacher and student, researcher identified that student speaking skill should be improved by applying capable teaching and learning process techniques solve the problem. Therefore, the researcher observed the teacher in implementing the whisper Chinese game. When the student was divided into several groups and each group consists of 4-5 student, there was a leader in each group who come forward to whispering the same sentence from the teacher. Then they whispered to their respective group. Who is the fastest in delivering the sentence in the last row up the hand and speak up what his friend whispered. Who is the first speak up would get high score.

After the researcher conducted interview with the teacher, the researcher concluded that the source of the material was based on the teacher because they were more appropriate and understandable for the student need and want.

The results of the documentation above are supported by the result of observations. The result of the observation were the student devided into some groups. The student made a line in each group countain with 4-5 students to do the whisper Chinese game. Each group had a leader that he would call by the teacher first and the teacher whisper one sentence about family. Then the leader whisper in the group.45
The reasercher concluded that the result of interviews, observations and documentations during the teaching speaking skill through whisper Chinese game was: student become more active and

enthusiastic during play the game because the game make them happy and is not boring, student become more active to speak loudly.
Acording to Tornburry speaking is an activity in real life that is carried out by speaker to carry out the ideas to interact with listeners.
The activities are unplaned and their continuity is based on situations.46 It made student felt enjoy to speak up because the class is not only about in a book, but also playing game. Even though student still didn't understand the meaning of what student said aloud, student was still enthusiastic about speaking English loudly and enthusiastically.
2. The material of teaching speaking skill through Whisper Chinese game
The material of teaching speaking skill through Whisper Chinese game, According to Mrs. Fitriyah as the English teacher of MTs Rohmatul Umam Lumajang said that “The material that I gave to the student was describing family include the language features and the text structure.”47
Based on the interview above, it can be seen that the material of teaching speaking skill through Whisper Chinese Game was about describing family include the language features and the text structure.
Regarding to the material of teaching speaking skill through Whisper Chinese game, Sayyidah hasanah said : “In the learning process, Mrs. Fitriyah usually uses teaching speaking skills through whisper Chinese games with material about describing family. This is necessary because the material requirement is the be brave to speak English.”48

Camero said that that speaking is about making people understand speaker‟s feeling and ideas by doing an act of communication using language.49 Based on the interview aboveand the statement, it could be seen that the material presented by the teacher on teaching speaking skill through whisper chinese game is about describing family. Which material required more spoken English sentence by sentences. And able to understood the other speech.
Based on the results of interviews, observations and documentation, the researcher concluded that teaching English skill through whisper Chinese game material is about family. It has helped the student be more understand to described their material. And more speak up to say anything with other student used English language.
3. The step of teaching speaking skill through Whisper Chinese game Overall, the way that the teacher taught the student was in line with the lesson plan made by the English teacher. The procedure of implementation of teaching speaking skill through whisper Chinese game at the seventh grade of MTs Rohmatul Umam Lumajang, there were three steps. First, preliminary activities. Second, main activities and third, closing activities. It was relevant by the statement of David Thomas said that whisper game also called chinese whisper .it is a party game in which a whispered message is passed around a line in the expectation in the

telling. It will become comically distorted or exaggerated by the time, it completes the circuit.50
In the preliminary activity the teacher gave motivation to student, in the main activity the teacher implemented the strategy, the procedures of whisper Chinese game strategy were :
a. The teacher began to say the sentence about family to the leader of each group.
b. Then the teacher would give the leader a sentence of message.
c. The leader read the sentence for a minute. Then, whispered it to the next member.
d. The next member would do the same to the next member until the last member.
e. Finally, the last member will announce the message together with the other member in a group.
f. The faster group that finish first and the message is true become the winner in this group.
g. Then turn to the next section with the other two groups. The groups would get the same treatment.
h. At the end, the student with the teacher found the meaning and check the grammar structure together.
And in the closing activity the teacher the asked about the student‟s difficulties during to speak up in the game was playing.

During the implementation of the strategy, the students looked more active, enthusiastic to speak up and they also more confident without feel shy when they got mistakes in speak up. The strategy was fun and could motivated the students to speak English loudly without being forced.
4. The evaluation of teaching speaking skill through Whisper Chinese game
The evaluation was conducted in the last activity. Ms. Fitriyah as the English teacher explained that : The teacher asked student to speak in front of the class describing their family in English. Although there were still many mistakes and lack of vocabularies in English, they were still enthusiastic to come forward and dare to speak.51
Based on the interview above, it could be seen that the evaluation teaching speaking skill was very easy if you apply it patiently. Because every student had different skill. By using this game student would not feel bored with monotonous lessons with a book.
The above statement is supplemented by an interview with a student named M. Sofyan he said that:
“After playing the game, Mrs. Fitriyah usually tould us to come forward to describe our family in front of our friends. If there were student who could not or are embarrassed, they are asked the name of their family members who were in the same house with them or to discriminate only one of their families. The important thing was that they wanted to speak in English.52
Based on the results of interviews, observations and documentation, the researcher concluded that evaluation teaching

speaking skills used is being able to speak English well in public. and they did not feel ashamed anymore when they want to speak English in front of their friends.
