TEACHING MATERIALS Meeting 1

In a remote part of wales there is a place called morrow One day, at a London train station, a traveler said to the booking clerk, l want a ticket to Morrow, please.” The clerk raised his eyebrows saying,” if you want a ticket to morrow, why don’t you come for it tomorrow?

“But l want a ticket to morrow today,” the traveler replied.” l told you’ “the clerk said “you can’t have a ticket tomorrow today. You will have to come tomorrow for it.”

By this time, the traveler was getting more and ,more annoyed and finally lost his temper and yelled can you understand what l mean? l want a ticket to a place called morrow and l want it now!

finally understanding what the treveler really wanted, the clerk said quite calmly,”why didn’t you say so in the first place? Here your ticket.”

Meeting 2

Once there lived an old man who had many sons. They were always quarrelling with one another and this made him very sad. He longed to see the lived peacefully so he thought up a clever plan to show them their folly.

He brought home a small bundle of sticks and sent for his sons. He asked his youngest son to try and break the bundle. He could not. Then he asked the rest to try. One by one, each of them tried, but failed.

Then old man untied the bundle and asked his sons to try again.

They broke the sticks at once. Now came the time to teach them their lesson. “my sons,” he said, “learn a lesson from these sticks. You could not break them as long as they were bound together, but the moment they were separated from one another, they were broken into pieces, in the same way, you will all perish if you are divided.

Meeting 3

One day, a fox saw a bird sitting on the branch of a tree. In this mouth the bird had some foot. The fox wanted this food because he was very hungry.

“you are a beautiful bird,” but can you sing?”

“of course I can sing, ”thought the bird,” this is a very stupid fox.”

He opened his mouth to sing and dropped the foot. The fox caught the foot and said,” yes you can sing, and you are very beautiful, but you are not very smart.” And the fox ran away with this food.

Meeting 4

A greedy dog stole a large piece of tender meat from a butcher’s shop. He grasped the meat tightly between his teeth and ran home with it.

On the way home, he came to a small bridge ; he looked down and saw his own reflection in the water below: he thought it was another dog that he saw

In this other dog’s mouth he saw another large piece of meat.

“if I can get the meat from that other dog, I will have two pieces instead of one,” thought that greedy dog.

So, he bent down to get the meat and, as he opened his jaws, the meat fell out and was quickly lost in the water. So, in the and the dog had nothing. He had been punished by his greed.

Meeting 5

To begin with the story, let me tell you that a long time ago, mosquitoes didn’t buzz, they talked and talked. Then one day when one of them talked to an iguana and didn’t let the iguana say one word.

The iguana just grumble and waved her tail until she forgot to say hello to her friend a snake. After that everything was in a mess.

The snake was so angry that he made a rabbit, a monkey, a crow, and an owl get frightened. Finally, the whole jungle was mad at the mosquito and cried for the sun to come up when it did, the mosquito lost his voice.

Meeting 6

Once when a lion was a sleep, a little mouse began running up and down upon him, this soon awaken the lion, who placed his huge paw upon him, and opened his big jaws to swallow him. Pardon, o king , cried the little mouse ,”for give me this time, l shall never forget it”who knows but what l may be able to do you a turn some of these day?”

The lion was so tickled at the idea of the mouse being able to help him, that he lifted up his paw and let him go.

Some time after, the lion was cought in a trap and the hunters, who desered to carry him alive to the king, tied him to a tree while they went in search of awagon to carry him on.

Just then the little mouse happened to pass by and see the sad plight in which the lion was. He went up to the lion and soon gnawed away the ropes that bound the king of the beasts.”wasn’t l right?”’, sad the little mouse vocabulary

Meeting 7

The mouse deer was a very tricky animal buy the had many enemies.

One of his enemies was crocodile. The crocodile lived in a river near a forest.one day the mouse deer went to the river. It was a very hot day, and he was very thirsty and dirty. He wanted some thing from the river and he bathed and splashed about in the water.

Suddenly the crocodile saw the mouse deer.”Hmm…..a nice meal.”he though. Then, he silently crawled behind the mouse deer and grabbed him. He cought the mouse deer’s legs.

The mouse deer was starled and terrified as well. Then, he had an idea he saw atwig floating near him. He picked it up and said,”you stupid fool! So you think you’ve got me. You’re biting a twig-not my leg, you stupid

crocodile!here’s my leg.”

And with that, he showed the crocodile the twig. The crocodile could not see very well. He was a very stupid creature, too. He believe the cunning mouse deer. He freed the mouse deer’s leg and snapped upon the twig. The mouse deer ran out of the water immediately.

“ha ha ha…”, he laughed”l tricke you!”

Meeting 8

A little bird was flying south for the winter. It was so cold the bird froze and fell to the ground in a large field. While it was lying there, a cow came by and dropped some dung on it. As the frozen brid lay there in the pile of cow dung, it began to realize how warm it was. The dung was actually thawing him out!

He lay there all warm and happy, and soon begin to sing for joy. A passing cat heard the bird singing and came to investigate. Following the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the pile of cow dung, promptly dug him out, and ate him!
