or- ganizational structure. In the 1940's,when FFA's
popularitybegan

heights, a systemwas needed

track of the swellingnumber
of contributorsfrom
outside the organiza- tion.On March
29, 1944, theFFA
Foundation was
incorporated.Today
theFFA Foundation
is as di- verse as theFFA
organization itself. Itcontinues to
grow and
its investment in the agriculturalyouth
ofAmerica
continuestogrow
also.In 1976,contributionsof
$838,541.02 were
receivedfrom
1,446 businesses, industries, organizationsand
individ- uals. This representsan
18.9 percent increase in contributions over 1975, despite a seemingly uncertainand changing economy.

are six categories of recogni- tion for the individualsand companies
putting forth financial support of theFFA
through the Foundation.The

to serve the local chaptersand FFA members.
Prior to thattime each chapter orderingoffi- cialFFA
supplieshad
to orderthem from
several different sources. Itwas
suggested that these supplies should bebought
togetherinone
place so a chap- ter could fill outone
orderform and
get all of the officialFFA
items they needed.The
success of theSupply
Ser- vice since that time hasproven
theneed
for such a service. This coopera- tive businessowned by FFA
has be-come one
of the organization'smost
valuable assets.The Supply
Service isunder
the di- rect control of theFFA Board
of Di- rectorsand
NationalOfficers.The FFA
employs
a qualified staff such as en- gravers, embossers, seamstresses towork
at lettering of jackets, shipping specialistsand
order processors to pro- vide the services.At
the present time theFFA Supply

items.The most
popular of these is the traditional bluecorduroy FFA
jacketwhich
hasbecome
a nationwide
trademark
ofFFA mem-
bership.

the catalog, using the orderform

mail, is the best procedure.A
limited

tele-phone
orderscan be accommodated.
However,
it's easy for the rush ordersis being delivered to the supplier all
year long
and would
stretch 128 milesif laid out all at
once
just toproduce one
year's supply of theFFA
jackets.During
the past30
years over2 million jacketshave been
delivered.The
cordu- roywould
reach nearly coast to coast (over 2,600 miles).Ittakes approximately 15 to
