2.11 THE BRAYTON CYCLE

Brayton cycle is a theoretical cycle for gas turbines. This cycle consists of two reversible adiabatic or isentropic processes and two constant pressure processes. Figure 2.15 shows the Brayton cycle onp-V andT-scoordinates.

The cycle is similar to the Diesel cycle in compression and heat addition.

The isentropic expansion of the Diesel cycle is further extended followed by
