Three study limitations need to be considered in the drawing conclusion section. Firstly, the population of the future research needs to be explored more since this research
took only one district that is corporate in the Kawunganten English teachers association group that junior high schools under the Ministry of Religious Affairs dominate. At the same time, the junior high schools under the Ministry of Education and Culture should ideally be included maximally. The disparity between Madrasah and Junior high school needs to be clearly described (Hidayat et al., 2020). Therefore, it would be more comprehensive if the following research had more participants from the junior high school under the ministry of education and culture.
Additionally, the research suggested the use of one specific method and specific converage mixed-method design for future research. It would comprehensively explore the finding by administering the observation as one of the next research instruments because it would clearly describe the implementation of online formative assessment in teaching writing concretely and directly.
