KEEP THE FAITH
Since its founding in 1928, the Future Farmers of America has been a beacon of light in leadership and citizenship for all of America. But doesn't FFA stand for much more in the minds and hearts of those who know us. I feel proud knowing that I am part of an organization with young men and women involved in action programs aimed at building up instead of destroying.
Young men and women who intend not only to be good, but to be good for something. We are challenged by the realization that the strength of a nation lies not in its military power, but in its ability to feed its people. American Agriculture and have put the power of vision and purpose at the very foundation of our organization.
The challenge lies ahead of us to open the doors of opportunity to an even greater number of followers of farming activities. FFA members are prepared and trained in all aspects of America's largest industry and believe that "He who serves agriculture serves all mankind". 24 FORTY-FIFTH NATIONAL CONVENTION The most important thing is that each of us who value and love.

In the middle of* that garden is a vine so frail, so light, so helpless, but at the end of that frail vine. Sixteen years and every day for 16 years I ate egg salad sandwiches for lunch!" And if you're going to run that race in life and win, have a positive attitude.
We can beat anybody, we're going to go all the way, we're going to be super bowl champions" — and them. Can you imagine him walking to the huddle one day, putting his arm over his two big tackles and saying, "Kelsies we're going get bumped today, have you seen the other team?" A weak attitude. I have the strongest arms, the best lungs, the fastest legs, and I can beat any man!" Can you imagine him walking through the rope and not thinking he is the greatest.
30 FORTY-FIFTH NATIONAL CONVENTION
A race that would take us across the country and some of us even out of the country. For each and ('.vdry one of you, you're starting a new school year, you're just starting a race;. We know it won't be a normal start, we know it won't be a normal end, but we're ready.
As we get ready to run the race of life, we take our positions on the field. Things start to get foggy in your mind as the lights start to dim and you know that goal is upon us.
AND THEY WERE GONE
If these people had not been of the caliber required to overcome insurmountable odds, we would not be here today as free men and women. Gone, as the national officers of the past have retired and as the officers of the future will retire at the end of their term. Just as the Apostles were challenged to tell the story of Christ, all of us as FFA members have been entrusted with many challenges.
The challenge of making the Future Farmers of America relevant to all students in agricultural education, both production and business-oriented, may be our greatest challenge because while we. Like Nobel Prize winner Norman Borlaug, we face the challenge of improving an already improved agricultural industry and feeding our growing population because there is one fact we cannot change. And the Future Farmers of America must continue to produce good, strong, honest, concerned leaders if we as Americans are to survive.
SILVER AND GOLD, HAVE I NONE
We like it; to think that America is safe and protected from any threats. First, of course, I thank God for his care for one little woodpecker in the swamp. Although it was the most pleasant year of my life, I saw many sad scenes.
But like the lame beggar, they have no real need for silver and gold. You will see older men moving slowly through the hallways like shadows from younger days. You move through the busy streets and pass thousands of men and women hurrying back and forth on their journey.

The FFA Foundation received income from contributions from over 600 sponsors and from reserve fund interests. The majority of the FFA Foundation budget is spent in connection with your incentive awards program and special projects that recognize FFA agricultural education members for outstanding achievement. With the recommendation of your national officers and board of directors, reserve funds, working capital and other available FFA.
All the FFA financial data is now processed by a mini-computer located at the FFA Centre. Your accounts are audited annually by Certified Public Accountants and copies of these audits are submitted to your National Officers. A copy of the audit is also submitted to the United States Congress as required by law.

OCCUPATIONS IN AGRICULTURE
But when you ask these same people what they've done about the situation, you'll likely find that they just bought a box of non-returnable bottles, dress their babies in throwaway diapers, and often afford to use open dumps on their home farm. Most Americans would rather escape the problem of pollution with a relaxing drive in the country or a cabin on a lake. 34; Residues of toxic pesticides have been found in the bodies of Eskimos in the Arctic, as well as in the bodies of penguins in Antarctica."
34; Not only in America, but everywhere man is totally uninterested in the problems of pollution until he realizes that it is not: Only his neighbors' problem, or only his government's problem, but that it is also his problem. " Our hillsides are littered with landfills, our fish are slaughtered in countless billions by chemical waste, and our children's playgrounds are turned into trash heaps. When exhausted, the chair will be taken to the incinerator, provided the Air Pollution Control Board will still allow, while the no-return glass bottles will be taken to a landfill to remain there for just a little bit of eternity. However, this could be subject to a proposed international agreement that would allow us to refuse the use of our oceans as a global garbage dump.
