AU presents 'wickedly funny' production this week

AU Performing Arts presents:

"The Cripple of Inishmaan"

A comedy by MARTIN McDONAGH

Directed by J. Stephen Crosby

A wickedly funny story about a quirky, lonely, young Irishman whose chief occupation is to stare at cows - and the lives of others who live with him on the barren, isolated island of Inishmaan, off the western coast of Ireland

Bergren Forum

The Bergren Forum sponsored by the Division of Human Studies will be meeting on Thursday Oct. 5 at 12:10 p.m.in the Nevins Theatre, Powell Campus Center.

Bring a brown bag lunch; coffee and tea will be available.

SPEAKER: Gerar Edizel

TOPIC: "Smyrna between East and West"

A look at the peculiar historical circumstances that occasioned the formation of one of the many minorities of the Aegean city of Smyrna.

It was one of the most complex social and cultural "mosaics" of the Mediterranean world before it rose from its ashes as Izmir. Two 18thentury intinerant priests may hold the secret to some of its untold stories.

You will also learn skills that are essential to success in any field, including how to speak with confidence, how to manage your time and manage stress, how to lead and inspire others, and how to use technology effectively.

Women's Leadership Academy is more than a series of events, it's a network of women who help each other succeed!
