Undergraduate Students - Financial Aid Deadline 3/15/14
IMPORTANT: MARCH 15, 2014 IS THE DEADLINE FOR FILING THE 2014-15 ALFRED UNIVERSITY FINANCIAL AID APPLICATION AND THE FREE APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL STUDENT AID (FAFSA).
If you will be an undergraduate student at AU for the 2014-15 academic year and do not have these
documents, please stop by the Financial Aid Office to pick them up. We are located in Alumni Hall and are open 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday.

Foreign Language Placement Exam Foreign Language Placement Exam Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014
114 Seidlin Hall 7 - 8 p.m.
Exams are given in French, German, and Spanish.
Who needs to take the Placement Exam?
* Students who have taken more than two years of a language in high school and who intend to take the same language at AU must take the exam.
* Students who are bilingual or native speakers or who have spoken the language at home.
* Students do NOT need to take the exam if they did not study a language previously or if they are planning to take a different language in college.
* Students who wish to demonstrate proficiency in another language should contact Dr. Kerry Kautzman about procedures.
*Please remember to bring your student ID and a #2 pencil.*

Sign Up for the 2014 Martin Luther King Day of Service
Join us in a Day of Service to commemorate the life and service of Martin Luther King Jr. on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014.
The day of service will begin with registration and breakfast at 8:30 a.m. and projects will be completed by 3 p.m. (if not earlier).
Projects will take place at various locations throughout Alfred and the surrounding communities.
Breakfast, transportation, and a t-shirt will also be provided!

WILD About Skiing
Hey there WILD enthusiasts! Get ready to play in the powder when you return to Alfred - we're getting excited for some winter recreation. We're getting ready for some fun at the slopes at Holiday Valley!
Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014 a bus will depart at 2:30 p.m. and head to Holiday Valley! Going and getting the ski pass is $34 while a ski pass and renting equipment will run $55 for skis and $58 for
snowboards. The cost includes travel to and from Holiday Valley and a 6-hour lift ticket.
We need a minimum of 15 folks on the bus or we don't get the group rate. RSVPS can be sent to the [email protected] or by signing up using online registration.

The Spring Job Fair, hosted by the Career Development Center, will take place on Friday, Feb. 21, 2014 from noon-2 p.m. in the Powell Campus Center, Knight Club. Over 50 companies are expected to be represented, recruiting all majors for internships, co-ops, volunteer, seasonal and full-time jobs.

Thin Man Film Series #1: 'The Thin Man' (1934) Tuesday, Jan. 21 at 6:45 p.m.

One of movie's great romantic couples, William Powell and Myrna Loy, team up for the first of several sophisticated Thin Man comedy-mysteries adopted from Dashiell Hammett's novel.
In the first film, Nick and Nora Charles investigate the disappearance of an inventor. The series of three films will continue on Feb. 4tand 11 at 6:45 p.m.
The library-sponsored classic film is free and open to the general.
