AU Summer Sessions
It's not too early to begin thinking about taking classes here in warm, sunny Alfred this summer!
Summer registration begins March 15, but the Summer course schedule is viewable now in Banner.
Just click on "Class Schedule" and then select Summer 2010.
AU Summer Sessions offer students a great opportunity to concentrate on one course without the burden of a heavy course load. You can complete a full semester course in as little as two or three weeks, take a full-year of the language requirement, get a head start on the fall semester, or make up a course you failed during the fall or spring.
A "quick reference" preliminary list of summer courses is attached for your convenience.
Please visit the Summer Sessions Website for information about registration, housing, deadlines, tuition, and other details and to view a PDF version of the Summer Schedule Booklet.
Printed copies of the Booklet will be available to be picked up at the Student Service Center in Seidlin, the Mail Room and the Office of Summer Programs in Carnegie in early March. Keep in mind, however, that changes/additions/deletions made to the schedule after it was printed will not be reflected in the Booklet. For the most accurate, up-to-date schedule, please check Banner.
If you have general questions about Summer Sessions and/or non-art summer courses please contact the Office of Summer Programs at 607.871.2612 or via email to [email protected]. If you have questions about summer art courses please contact the School of Art & Design at 607-871-2412 or via e-mail to [email protected].
Thank you.

Planning a Sick Spring Break?
Avoid H1N1 this spring break. H1N1 vaccine is available by appointment at Health Services (607.871.2400). Protect yourself from picking up the virus over break or, worse yet, spending your time sick in bed. Get vaccinated.
Health Services is seeing a slight increase in ILI (Influenza Like Illness). An indication that, as predicted, H1N1 is back lurking around, looking for victims.

Lecture: 'From Muscles to Motors in the Farm'
Lecture: "From Muscles to Motors in the Farm - Henry Ford and the Great American Tractor Wars 1910 - 1930"
Speaker: Dr. Milton C. Sernett, Syracuse University, Professor of History, retired Tuesday, March 2 at 7 p.m.
Nancy Howe Auditorium at the David A. Howe Public Library, 155 N. Main St., Wellsville
Join return lecturer Dr. Milton C. Sernett as he discusses Henry Ford's entry into the tractor business which had long-term consequences for American life on and off the farm. The transition from horse power to tractor power, from muscles to motors, took place in an era of rapid social changes in American life. Dr. Sernett uses rare images from the great tractor manufacturers and depictions of the seasons of agricultural work before the factory farm replaced the family farm. This is also an
opportunity to share memories of farm life in our community.
This program, which is free and open to the public, is made possible through the support of the New York Council for the Humanities' Speakers in the Humanities program.
