The objectives of this research were to know whether the Choral Reading Method affects the reading comprehension ability of students in the seventh grade of SMPN 3 Batanghari. He aimed to find out if using the choral reading method could affect students. This means that the Choral Reading Method can affect the reading comprehension ability of students in the seventh grade of SMPN 3 Batanghari.

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah metode Choral Reading berpengaruh terhadap keterampilan membaca siswa kelas VII SMPN 3 Batanghari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah penggunaan metode Choral Reading dapat mempengaruhi keterampilan membaca siswa. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa metode Choral Reading berpengaruh terhadap keterampilan membaca siswa kelas 7 DMPN 3 Batanghari.

Reading is not only about fluency, but also how the students understand the information conveyed by the researcher. In school, the students hardly ever read English text because they find it difficult to understand the text. On the other hand, the teacher uses the conventional method of teaching reading so that the students get bored.

The other way to solve this problem is for the teacher to use an interesting method to interest the students in reading English text. Based on the above background and problem identification, the researcher limited the problem and focused only on the students' problems with reading comprehension. For the information of the English teacher, the CR method can be used to facilitate the students' reading comprehension.

It can be concluded that reading comprehension is the ability to know to what extent the reader knows the text when he reads. Reading comprehension skill goals can be achieved if readers have good interaction with the text. Comprehension activities can be added before and after reading.35 5. Advantage and disadvantage of the choral reading method.

Reading comprehension is the ability to know how far knowledge of the text after reading. If the choral reading method is used perfectly, the students' reading comprehension ability will therefore be good. Ha: there is a positive and significant influence of the choral reading method towards students' reading comprehension ability in seventh grade in SMPN 3 Batanghari.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

These were pre-test and post-test done before and after the treatment to compare the effect of giving the treatment. The teacher or model reader has previewed a passage for the students and they all make predictions about what the passage will be about. The teacher read the passage aloud - first alone, then with the students who joined in.

The teacher faded her voice and allowed the students to take the lead in reading the passage aloud. During this exercise, students were able to read as fast as possible as a non-speed reading group. In this research, the researcher used the choral reading method to observe the reading comprehension ability of students in the seventh grade of SMPN 3 Batanghari.

A dependent variable is a variable that is observed and measured to determine the effect of the independent variable. It can be defined as knowledge in recognizing the text that the students have read. Students can extract a message from a text that includes a main idea and specific information.

According to Marczyk et.al, the sample is representative of the population.44 Then Donal Ary states that the sample is part of the population.45 The sample is therefore a small group of the population that will be studied. This means that the sample of this research was part of the seventh grader number at SMPN 3 Batanghari. The researcher took one class from the entire seventh grade to become the respondent of this research.

So, if students can answer all the questions correctly, they will get 100 points. The researcher administered a pretest to the students before the treatment to determine their reading comprehension ability. The purpose of the preliminary test was to determine how far the students' reading comprehension abilities are.

It was determined whether there was a significant difference between the pretest and the posttest. This included the relevant book, rules, activity report, photographs, reading test result of the seventh grade students of SMPN 3 Batanghari and data that was relevant to help with the observation. The researcher used the observation method to obtain complete data on the school profile, school condition, teachers and students and facilities in SMPN 3 Batanghari.

Observation was also used to get information from relative source to the seventh grade students of SMPN 1 Batanghari. The instrument used in this study was to provide the descriptive text to the students. The researcher explained more about how to understand the text by using choral reading method.

The exercise designed for the students is giving the descriptive text and then the students read it using the choral reading method. The instrument plan is the way to get the data that will be useful for the researcher to collage the information from the field. The researcher composed the instrument based on the content of the subject to be researched.

The researcher needs to know the validity of the test to know whether the test has good validity or not.

Data Analysis Technique

The researcher analyzed data using t-test to investigate whether there is an influence of the choral reading method on students' reading comprehension ability in the seventh grade of SMPN 3 Batanghari. To measure the students' reading comprehension ability, the author used the pre-test before the treatment was given. The pre-test score of students' reading comprehension at the seventh grade of SMP N 3 Batanghari.

Post-test Score of Students' Reading Comprehension at the Seventh Grade of SMP N 3 Batanghari. After completing the written test method, the researcher analyzed the data using chi-square (X2) with two variables in order to prove whether there is a positive and significant influence of the choral reading method on the reading skills of students in the seventh grade. SMP N 3 Batanghari as follows:48. To find out whether there is a positive and significant effect of the choral reading method on the reading comprehension of students in the seventh grade of SMPN 3 Batanghari.

Preparation of the table in order to prove whether there is an influence of the reading method on students' reading comprehension in seventh grade in SMPN 3 Batanghari. The result of the pre-test and the post-test of the students' reading comprehension ability No Name Pre-test. From the value above, it can be inferred that there is a positive and significant influence of Choral Reading Method towards students' reading comprehension in seventh grade in SMPN 3 Batanghari.

The critical value of "X2observed" was 10.88, in conclusion, Choral Method can affect students' reading comprehension ability in the seventh grade of SMP N 3 Batanghari. The researcher formulated the Alternative Hypothesis (Ha) as: "there is a positive and significant influence of Choir Reading Method on students' reading comprehension ability at the seventh grade of SMP N 3 Batanghari. Therefore, it can be concluded that "there is a positive and significant influence of Choral Reading Method is on students' reading comprehension ability in the seventh grade of SMP N 3 Batanghari."

The variables were tested by using formal Chi-square and T-test to investigate whether there is a positive and significant influence of Choral Reading Method against students' reading comprehension ability in seventh grade of SMP N 3 Batanghari. The research did not discuss all the problems faced by students, but focuses on students' reading comprehension problem in learning English as a foreign language. There was a significant influence of the CR method towards the students' reading comprehension ability in the seventh grade of SM P N 3 Batanghari.

Based on the analysis data above, the researcher concluded that “there was a positive and significant influence of Choral Reading Method towards the students' reading comprehension ability in the seventh grade of SMP N 3 Batanghari in the academic year.

Hypothesis Testing

After applying the test and receiving the documentation, the researcher analyzed the data by using analysis chi-square and t-test to prove whether there is influence of Choral Reading Method towards the students'. Then knowing the critical value of chi-square, the researcher first counted df, it was degree of freedom. First, the researcher prepared the table and put the data into the t-test formula as below to get observation.

To know the critical value of the t-test (ttable), the researcher first calculated the df, df is the degree of freedom.

After implementing quantitative research on seventh grade in SMP N 3 Batanghari and according to the result of pre-test and post-test, it could be summarized that there was a positive and significant influence of implementing Choral Reading Method in the teaching of descriptive text . Rasa hormat dan utamaan (Respect) 3. 1. Descriptive text is text to describe an object, person or place. At Tanjung Tinggi Beach, visitors bask in the warmth of the sun, enjoy the blue, clear sea, and take photos on top of the cliffs.

Jawaban Merespon makna dan langkah retorika secara akurat, lancar, dan berterima dalam esai sangat sederhana yang berkaitan dengan latar langsung dalam teks deskriptif. Ada juga paviliun ala Disney dengan wahana, salah satunya Doll Palace atau Istana Boneka, dan masih banyak kebutuhan keluarga lainnya untuk mengisi akhir pekan yang menyenangkan. Di Pantai Tanjung Tinggi, pengunjung berjemur di bawah hangatnya matahari, menikmati jernihnya laut biru, dan berfoto di atas tebing.
