The Objective and Benefit of the Study

Scott W. explains that “the independent variable, that is, the variable that is systematically controlled by the researcher to determine the effect of that variable. By systematically changing the independent variable and keeping all other variables constant, the researchers can be confident that any change in the dependent variable - the outcome the researchers are measuring - is actually due to the effect of the independent variable".35 This means that independent variables. variable is a controlling variable that affects dependent variable in research. Accordingly, the sample of this research the author chose class A consisting of 21 students and class B consisting of 21 students. The sample total of 42 students, both male and female, is involved in this research.

After that, it has the motto "the master school and hunter students become people who have abilities in each field and bring benefits to people's lives". REVIEW OF THE RELATED THEORIES

The Concept of Simple Present Tense

  • The Concept of Grammar
  • The Concept of Tenses
  • The Definition of Simple Present Tense
  • The Form of Simple Present Tense
  • The Use of Simple Present Tense

Simple Present Tense is one of the tenses that is important to be mastered by the students. The simple present tense says that something was true in the past, is true in the present and will be true in the future. According to Eugene Ehrlich, Simple present tense is used to present action, habitual action and the simple future action true for all times.12 The basic of Simple present tense always uses form ; S+Q1.

From Anne Seatan's book he explains about: The simple present tense expresses a general truth or customary action.13. In addition, Murphy states that the present tense is used to talk about things in general. Based on the above explanation, the researcher concludes that a wrong perception of the present tense will affect the students.

From the above examples, we can conclude that the present simple tense expresses something that is true in general. If the simple present tense is used in the sentence, this is the emphasis.

The Concept Of Textual Enhancement Technique

  • Definition of Textual Enhancement Technique
  • Types of Textual Enhancement Technique
  • Procedure of Textual Enhancement Technique
  • Advantage and Disadvantage of Textual

Textual Enhancement (TE) is considered an "implicit and unobtrusive way" of directing the learner's attention to the target forms because it tends to focus the learner's attention primarily on the meaning of the text and incidentally on the mapping of relationships between form and meaning. Wong says that he defined text enhancement as the use of typographical characters such as bold or italics to draw the reader's attention to certain information in the text.26. In addition, Ron Cowan said in his book that “Textual enhancement refers to the practice of typographically emphasizing a particular grammatical structure in a written passage, such as capitalization, bold, underlining, italics, and some combination thereof. 27.

Repetition is a useful device for text enhancement because it not only makes a particular form perceptually noticeable, but also allows the learner to have more time to process the input. The process of the text enhancement technique The process of the technique is: The process of the technique is:. Highlight this feature in the text using one or a combination of text enhancement techniques.

Most studies that have used textual correction have found that this technique can help learners notice target structure, but that it does not necessarily lead to learning. However, while textual enhancement can promote noticing, it alone may not be able to lead to learning.

Theoretical Framework and Paradigm

  • Theoretical Framework
  • Paradigm

Although grammar is difficult, grammar is a tool to be a good speaker, writer or listener. The problems they face in the lessons are that the students find it difficult to remember the simple present tense formula rule. In this research, the researcher uses the Textual Enhancement technique to teach the simple present tense focusing on the seventh grade of SMP IT Bina insani.

The researcher believes that if the teacher uses textual correction technique when teaching grammar about the present tense, the students will be able to concentrate more easily and will be especially helpful in improving the learners' ability to understand the target form. If text correction technique is effective for teaching the present tense, it will have a good impact on mastering the present tense. However, if textual correction technique is used incorrectly for teaching the present tense, it will not affect the student's mastery of the present tense.

Based on the figure above, it can be seen that if the text correction technique is applied effectively and the present tense of the students is good, then there is a positive and significant influence of the use of the text correction technique on the mastery of the present tense. time of the students. Conversely, if the text correction technique is misapplied so that the students' present tense is poor, there is no positive and significant impact of using the text correction technique on the students' present tense mastery.

Hypothesis

  • Hypothesis Formulation
  • Statistical Hypothesis

A hypothesis can be stated in the null form, which is a statement that there is no relationship or no difference between or among variables. This form of null hypothesis is a statistical hypothesis which is testable within the framework of probability theory. It is also a form of non-directive hypothesis".38 This hypothesis is considered as an assumption about a population parameter.

RESEARCH METODOLOGY

  • Research Design
  • Population, Sample and Sampling Technique
  • The Operational Definition of Variables
  • Data Collection Method
  • Research Instrument
  • Data Analysis Technique

Finally, it was possible to find the impact of using the Textual Enhancement technique on the student's mastery of the simple present tense. This research will be conducted in the seventh class of SMP IT Bina Insani Metro. Seventh Grade SMP IT Bina Insani Metro Student Experimental Pre-Examination Result.

Graph of the frequency distribution of the student's result of mastering the simple present tense in the post-test (control class). Graph of the frequency distribution of the student's result of mastering the simple present tense in the post-test (experimental class).

It can be inferred that there is a positive influence of using Simple Present tense technique against the students' Simple Present Tense of the seventh grade in SMP IT Bina Insani Metro. The hypothesis used in this current research is that there is a positive influence of the use of text improvement technique towards the students' Simple Present tense of Seventh Grade of SMP IT Bina Insani Metro. The hypothesis used in this current research is that there is a significant influence of the use of text enhancement techniques towards students' simple present tense mastery in seventh grade in SMP IT Bina Insani Metro.

On the other word, there is a positive and significant impact of using text enhancement technique on students' simple present tense mastery at grade seven in SMP IT Bina Insani Metro. So the text enhancement technique has a positive influence on students' simple present tense mastery in the seventh grade of SMP IT Bina Insani Metro. It means that there is a positive and significant influence of the application of the text enhancement technique to the students' simple present tense mastery in the seventh grade of SMP IT Bina Insani Metro.

Hypothesis Testing

Interpretations

This means that there is a positive impact of using the Textual Improvement technique on students. It can be concluded that there is a significant impact of using the Textual Enhancement technique towards. However, at the end of the treatment activity, the researcher faced difficulties to manage the class because the students have lost their concentration or focus.
