Sentences for English in the fifth semester Students in the English Department of Muhammadiyah University of Makassar. Analysis of students' errors in translating Indonesian sentences into English (A Descriptive at the Fifth Semester Students of English Department in Muhammadiyah University of Makassar in the academic year 2018/2019). This research aimed to know the students' mistakes in translating Indonesian sentences into English in the fifth semester Students of English Department in Muhammadiyah University of Makassar in the academic year 2018/2019 and also to find out common mistakes in translating Indonesian sentences for English in Academic year 2018/2019.

Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa menunjukkan rata-rata tingkat kesulitan 44% dalam menerjemahkan kalimat bahasa Indonesia ke bahasa Inggris dengan terminologi dan kesalahan tata bahasa yang salah. Analisis Kesalahan Mahasiswa dalam Menerjemahkan Kalimat Bahasa Indonesia ke Bahasa Inggris (Penelitian Deskriptif Mahasiswa Semester V Jurusan Bahasa Inggris Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar Tahun Pelajaran 2018/2019). Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata 44% siswa menunjukkan tingkat kesulitan dalam menerjemahkan kalimat bahasa Indonesia ke bahasa Inggris dengan terminologi dan kesalahan tata bahasa yang salah.

The meaning of the translation can be ambiguous if there are so many ungrammatical sentences and in the corresponding vocabularies they also refer to the chosen word or diction. As we know, most students still have difficulty in translating from Indonesian to English. Most of the problems are due to the lack of grammar knowledge and vocabulary, for example: in Indonesia "saya pergi ke sekolah kemarin" can be grammatically translated into English "I go to school yesterday".

What are the mistakes the students made in translating Indonesian sentences into English. To find out the mistakes made by the students in translating Indonesian sentences into English. For the teachers, to provide information for English teachers about the ability of the students.

For the students the subjects of the research, to find out the mistakes of the students in translation from Indonesia. In collecting the data for this research, the researcher narrows down the problem to the analysis of students' error in translating Indonesian sentences into English.

REVIEW OF LITERATURE

Previous Related Research Finding

In short, the target language is not appropriate to what the source language actually means, and most students still use a literal translation. A translator must be able to find equivalent words in the source language with the target language. Second, structural translation is one type of translation that emphasizes the scope of the translation result.

At this level, translator must be able to find the equivalent of the source text. To measure the applicability of the test instrument, the author uses validity test. The table above shows the score of the students' error in translating Indonesian sentence into English.

The percentage of errors students make when translating English sentences into the wrong terminology. The percentage of errors made by the students when translating English sentences based on grammatical errors (omission singular>

It appears that most students find it easy to translate in this type. Some students are not motivated to learn English and are not interested in translating an English text or sentence. Some students do not enjoy the lessons because the teacher's method is not interesting and monotonous.

The class condition does not support the teaching and learning process because some of the students in the class are making noise. Based on the result of the research, translation can allow students to apply their understanding of the meaning of the words. In order to improve students' translation skills, students must first of all understand and understand the overall context of the written text.

Conceptual Framework

To achieve the meaning, the understanding of linguistics and extralinguistics elements in the text is necessary. Linguistic elements deal with elements of language, while extralinguistics relates to the element beyond language such as the culture and social context of the text. Analysis of linguistic element must cover at all levels such as phrase, sentence, clause and word.

In doing so, translators are expected to gain a complete understanding of meaning in the source text. The use of language style must also match the type of translated text.

In this study, students are asked to translate a few simple sentences. The test was also designed to find out and analyze the kinds of translation errors students often make when translating from Indonesian to English. The researcher gives a test for the sample consisting of 10 closed questions, the researcher gives the students 60 minutes to answer the question based on their own opinion.

It means that the students find it difficult to translate it because it was less than 50%. In other words, the common mistakes students make when translating Indonesian sentences into English were using the wrong terminology type. Based on the students' translation above, the word was correct. If a noun means only one, it is said to be singular.

Based on the students' translation above, the word was correct, but the word strong chemistry meaning was context specific. Research findings about common errors in English to Indonesian translation that students still confuse and are difficult to use the word that fits the meaning with the context. This was due to internal factors such as students not having enough vocabulary to translate, students not being interested in translating Indonesian into English, and the limited time given by their teacher.

In addition, the students who were affected by external factors, such as the students did not feel comfortable and enjoyed in the class because of noise and method used by the teacher, did not have interest, and the students were not interested by their parents and family support to learn English. . It suggested that English teacher can adopt and apply this method to improve the students' translation ability. The students should encourage themselves to learn the vocabulary as much as possible, because the vocabulary is the most important aspect in improving the translation skill and also in language skills such as speaking, reading, listening, writing.

From the table above, it can be seen that the difficulty level of translating English sentences into Indonesian in "wrong terminology" was 44%. From the table above, it was found that the difficulty level of translating English sentences into Indonesian based on grammatical errors was 38%.

Discussion

Based on the test above, it can be concluded that many factors influence students' errors in translating Indonesian sentences into English. Based on the above explanation, the researcher concludes that cooperation between parents, teachers, environments and students is absolutely important. In this chapter, the researcher would like to draw a conclusion from what has been discussed in the previous chapters and recommend some suggestions regarding students' mistakes in translating Indonesian.

The result shows that the terminology error score is higher than the grammatical one. The teacher should explain the lesson in different ways, such as the grammar translation method, give a translation task, and using some tools such as pictures, cards, etc. The teacher should correct their mistakes in translating Indonesian sentences into English, so that they know the correct ones.

The researcher also suggests to the students that they should be aware of the mistakes they often make when translating the English written text into the English language so that the mistakes will not reoccur in another chance. The ability of the third-year English education student of the Islamic State University SUSKA Riau in translating English text into Indonesian. The contribution of the mastery of the times in translating from Indonesian to English among the third-year students of English education Ministry of Education and Teacher Training Faculty of Islamic State University UIN SUSKA Riau.
