The research takes a limitation of the problem that will focus on students' speaking ability and speaking ability for eighth grade students of SMPN 2 Babadan Ponorogo improved by using Photo Series Media. Speaking is one of the four skills in learning English that is included in the productive skill. In the activities the teacher hopes for the appropriate use of language, but is also inclined to encourage the students' efforts to use the language they have to communicate.

Course One of the basic problems in foreign language teaching is to prepare learners to be able to use the language.

Media

According to statement above, media is the attempt to stimulate students' attention in teaching and learning. By combining the strengths of particular media resources with teaching methods that make full use of these strengths.85 Therefore, Media is everything that is used to deliver a message to the receiver from the sender to stimulate and motivate the students. The purpose of media is to facilitate communication.86 However, it can provide visual experience for students' motivation in learning, to make the complicated concept easier and to make the abstract concrete.

Media is very essential because it is a bridge between the students' thinking and the real object. When the media is not appropriate, the student will have a fake map of real object taught. According to Suyanto, Media is expected to facilitate the teaching of English language especially for children.

Make sure that the learning process of teaching is interesting and interactive.87 Media are therefore very important to help students understand the lesson in the learning process of teaching. So media is anything that is used to convey a message to a receiver from a sender to encourage and motivate students. The advantage of visual media is that they can present ideas, messages or events as real.

Picture Series

Audiovisual media combines audio and visual media, combining hearing and seeing or vision in the delivery of a message. The audiovisual media has some advantages, it can help and changing the teacher rules becomes easier. Audio-visual media also allow students to practice themselves and encourage students to know more. usually ranging from four to eight images.

So photo sequences are a number of related composite images that are linked to form a series or sequences. Photo series is a form of entertainment that reenacts a story through sound and a series of images that create the illusion of continuous motion. A photo clarifies a problem, possible fields and ages. e) They are cheap and widely available. f) They provide shared experiences for an entire group. G).

They can help you prevent and correct confusion. i) They offer a stimulus for further investigation, reading and research, visual evidence is a powerful tool. j) They help focus attention and develop critical judgment. There are many advantages to picture series, which are mainly intended to help students master English language skills. a) Can't depict movement like film does. Although there are some disadvantages of the use of picture series, but it is not comparable to the gains of the exploitation picture series in improving the ability to speak English.

Teaching Speaking Using Picture Series Media

Evaluation can be defined as the systematic collection of information for the purpose of making decisions. Tests are often used for educational purposes, either as a means of motivating students to study or as a means of reviewing the material taught, in which case no evaluative decision is made about the basis of the test result.96. In each cycle, the researcher completes the speaking test to measure how far the students' speaking ability is.

The speaking test takes place after the teacher shows pictures and explains the material in the learning process. So the image is the real media, which can be used to explore the information it contains and can help people to cultivate a language.

Previous of Study

The professional teacher refers to a skill in education management; the teacher can at least be a facilitator and motivator to encourage students to be actively involved in speaking activities. In this case, the researcher tries to use image series media to improve students' speaking skills.97.

He focused on improving the skills of students especially the eighth grade students of SMPN 2 Babadan Ponorogo. Action research in the classroom was carried out in the second semester of eighth grade students in the academic year 2013/2014. The English teacher still had problems to find the right strategy to improve students' speaking ability in English learning.

SCHEDULE OF OBSERVATION

Evaluation

This technique is used when the teacher wants to access the pronunciation of the students. Proper selection of the image used in testing can help control this testing. The student's fourth aspect of speaking (pronunciation, delivery, performance, assistive devices) had mean scores in between.

Various educators completed this observation sheet at the beginning of the research project (pre-evaluation). Students observed their fellow students and were also asked to complete the observation sheet on the first day of the research project. In this research project, the researcher is part of the school and can be considered an insider.

This problem was partially solved as the structured observation sheet indicated most of the actions that needed to be observed. However, this meant that some of the behaviors of the learners, which were considered pertinent to the study, were not on the observation sheet. To improve the reliability of the data, the educators were asked to keep field notes on any behavior they considered important for the study.

Research Instruments

One problem the educators encountered was what to record during observations and what to leave out. The field notes gave more value to the observations as the teachers had more freedom to record their own observations and use their own words. While taking notes, the teachers could also record the body language, facial expressions and tone of voice used by the students.

The richness of the natural environment can be problematic to record (a huge amount of information). Topics and research inputs that are not covered in the observation and questionnaire column will be entered in the event research record. Observing and evaluating the implementation of the RPP whenever it is carried out by two observers who have been trained to work with any observation sheet.

This sheet in the form of a lesson plan accompanied by a teacher's ability assessment indicators in the management of learning. Observations were made for 4 x 45 minutes by observing and recording all observed student activities, the corresponding code number was provided on the observation sheet. Student learning outcomes obtained from proportion-correct students after answered pre-test and post-test conducted by students.

Data Analysis Techniques

To analyze the results of the rating given by the two observers to the feasibility study observation using a rating scale format. 20 of 2003 on the National Education System and PP 19 years old 2005 on National Education Standards mandated that the curriculum at the level of Primary and Secondary Education be developed by each unit of education. Units of study should develop their own curriculum based on the characteristics and needs of potential learners, the community and the environment.

Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM) is the Mastery Learning (KKB) criterion set by the unit of study. KKM at the end of the ladder unit education for a group of subjects other than natural sciences and engineering is the threshold value of competence. The completeness criteria show the percentage level of achievement of the competence thus indicated with a maximum of 100 (one hundred.

At this stage, the researcher chose the material titled "the hare and the tortoise". The researcher started the lesson by greeting the students b) Researcher asked students about their condition. After the researcher got all information about picture series "the hare and the tortoise", asked the students to run back to their seat, and asked students to repeat the story of "the hare and the tortoise" through the guide of picture series tell. a) Researcher asked the students to submit their assignment b) Researcher gave the conclusion.

While teaching, the researcher observed the students. The researcher used observation sheets to record student participation throughout the learning process. Regarding the observation of students' activity above, it could be argued that the students had a qualification for activity. At this stage, the researcher chose the material of interest from the narrative text titled “The Thirsty Crow”.

The researcher started the lesson by greeting the students b) The researcher asked the students about their condition. Then the researcher asked the students to count from 1 to 4. So there were 4 groups in the class of 20 each. e) The researcher distributed the picture series material titled “The Thirsty Crow” to each group. f) Then, based on the given series of pictures, the researcher asked the groups to arrange jumbled paragraphs that were suitable for the series of pictures. g). After getting all the information about the picture series "The Thirsty Crow", the researcher asked the students to return to their .. seats and asked them to rewrite the story "The Thirsty Crow" following the picture series guide.

During the process of teaching and learning using picture series media in this cycle, students seemed to be confused with the material. According to the results of the description of the second cycle, the process of teaching learning using the media of the picture series was successful in improving the students' activities and achievements.
