  • Population and Sample
  • Research Variables
  • Instrument of the Research
  • Procedure of Collection Data
  • Techniques of Data Analysis

The pre-test was conducted before the treatment to find out where their prior knowledge was and to know the score of the students who would eventually find out the results in the post-test whether there was an increase or not. Find out the significance difference between the pre-test and the post-test by calculating the value of the test. D= the mean score of the difference between the pre-test and post-test scores.

This means that 92.3% of students passed and improved their reading performance. Calculation of the mean score for the students' answers using the formula: Table 4.3 Mean score pre- and post-test. Based on these results, it is concluded that there was a significant difference between the improved students' reading comprehension before and after using pictures.

Most students show their best work group of this task with four groups with excellent results. Based on the line score, all students gave the correct answer to questions about the purpose or goal, material, and steps of the procedure text. Based on the text reading comprehension test result of the students, the pre-test result of the students showed that there is no student who got excellent grade, very good grade, good grade, students got quite good grade students got fair classification students received poor classification and the student received very poor classification 3 (11.53%).

While the student's post-test result is found to be no excellent ranking, students got a very good ranking, students got a good ranking, students got a fairly good ranking, students got a fair ranking, and then there is no student. He found that 92.3% of students achieved a passing grade and improved their reading performance. In addition, the reading test data analysis result also showed that the average pre-test score was 59.04 and post-test was 83.46.

FINDINGS AND DISCUSSION

Findings

  • The Description of the Data
  • The Analysis of the Data
  • Hypothesis testing (t-test of significant)

The researcher found the data of the pre-test and post-test score of the student's experimental class. The pre-test is administered before treatment begins and the post-test is administered after treatment has ended. In addition, also present the students' literal reading comprehension after the researcher conducted her experiment (posttest) in the experimental classroom.

Based on the result, it is concluded that the use of images can make a greater contribution to teaching and learning reading comprehension. Based on the rate percentage in table 4.2, it has been established in the pretest that there is no student who received an excellent classification, a very good classification, a good classification, students received a fairly good classification, students received a fair classification, students received a poor classification and a student received a very poor classification 3 (11.53%). So in posttests it is found that there is no excellent classification, students got a very good classification students got a good classification students got a fairly good classification students got a fair classification and then there are no students who got a bad classification and students got a very bad classification .

Based on Table 4.3, it is stated that the average score before and after the test improved. Based on the result, he concludes that the use of the picture improved the students' reading comprehension. The data in the above table showed that the t-test value is higher than the t-table value.

We can conclude that the use of the picture improved the students' reading comprehension in the text of the learning process. This also means that the null hypothesis (H0) There is no significant reading comprehension of the students through the picture, which was rejected and the alternative hypothesis. H1) Pupils' reading comprehension with a picture is important. The t-test result is higher than the t-table value, the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected, and if the t-test result is lower than the t-table value, the null hypothesis (H0) is accepted.

It indicates that the result of the t-test value in all variables and indicators is higher than the t-table value.

Discussion

Then the researcher showed the students a picture of how to clean the mixer, and the students should recognize the generic structure, and the researcher brought the students' attention. Then the students arranged the picture given by the teacher and also determined the purpose or goal, substance and steps. In this session, the researcher asked the students to edit the picture given by the researcher.

The students were divided into five groups, each group was given a task with the same procedural text and instructions. During the three treatment sessions, the students seemed enthusiastic about using images as media, and the students also had fun and enjoyment. The media used in this study is visual media, in the form of images to attract the students.
