being evidently moulting, but the bright yellow coloration alone is sufficientto separate it

from

I.leucopteryx of Jamaica,

which

is its nearest ally.

During

the past

summer Mr. W.

B. Richardson has been col- lectingspecimens of natural history in the small islands

known

as

Grand

andLittle

Cayman, which

are situated south of

Cuba,

and

some hundred and

thirty miles northwest of Jamaica.

The

collection of birds.

which was

forwarded to

me

proved to be very rich in novelties, containing no less than thirteen .species

which

I believe tobe

new and

several others

which

vary

slightly from

known West

Indianforms.

Mr. Richardson

writes

me

thatthe island is low,

and

although

much

of itis well

wooded,

birds are comparativelyscarce.
