Extra Sitzung am 27. Maerz 1909.
Die Sitzung wurde vom Präsidenten einberufen. Alle in
der Stadt wohnenden Mitglieder waren anwesend. Das
Protokoll der letzten Sitzung wurde wie verlesen angenommen.
Die Resignation des Rektors Karl Kroh wurde verlesen.
Folgender Antrag von Frankling Vonnegut und unterstützt
von Carl Lieber wurde eingereicht, und in Einklang mit
Par. 7 der Nebengesetze den stimmberechtigten Mitgliedern der
Verwaltungsbehörde zur Abstimmung durch Stimmzettel unterbreitet:
“Be it resolved by the Board of Trustees of the
Normal College of the North American Gymnastic
Union that the resignation of Karl Kroh
as President and as Dean of the Department
of the Theory + Practice of Physical Training of
said Normal College, submitted to the Board
of Trustees March 15th 1909, be accepted,
such resignation to go into effect at the
end of the college year 1908/09, conformed by
and subject to the provision specified in
the Articles of agreement made on the
18th day of July 1908 between said Normal
College and said Carl Kroh.”

Special meeting on March 27, 1909
The meeting was convened by the president. All members who live in the city were present.
Last meeting’s minutes were approved as read.
The resignation of Dean Karl Kroh was read. Frankling Vonnegut made the following motion and Carl Lieber seconded it. It was presented to the voting members of the Board of Trustees in accordance with Par. 7 of the by-laws:
“Be it resolved by the Board of Trustees of the

An den Verw.-Rath des
Turnlehrer Seminars
Vor ca 2 ½ Monaten hatte der Unterzeichnete mit Sprecher
Theo. Stempfel eine Unterredung, in welcher er die zwischen
ihm und einzelnen Beamten des Verw. – Rates bestehenden
Beziehungen eingehend besprach. Unterzeihneter führte
. die ihm in seiner Funktion als Turnleiter und als
Präses des Seminars hinderlich erscheinenden Verhältnisse
n, die er Beschlüssen und Massnahmen des Verw. – Rath.,
sowie der aus solchen Massnahmen sich ergebenden gegen-
seitigen Stellungsnahme, zuschrieb.
Der Unterzeichnete führte des Weiteren die sich aus dem
bestehenden Prüfungsverfahren ergebenden, auf unrichti
gen Folgerungen beruhenden Kritiken und besonders auf
die von dem Seminar. Ausschuss ihm vorenthaltenen und
zur Stellungsnahme dienenden Prüfungsresultate hin.
Unmittelbar nach der letzten Prüfung erbat sich der Un-
terzeichnete mit einem anderen Mitgliede des Verw. Raths
eine Unterredung, in welcher er wiederum im Hinweis auf
die in den Seminarklassen bestehenden Unterschiede und
auf den in diesen Prüfungen in Anwendung gebrachten
Prüfungsmodus, sowie auf a. m. hinwies.
Ohne auf die aus den bestehenden angeführten Verhältnissen sich

ergebenden Unannehmlichkeiten, die als Folge der ab und
zu als nöthig erachteten Massnahmen – mangels anderweitiger
Verständigung – zu betrachten sind, näher einzugehen, und
bezugnehmend auf den in den angeführten Unterredungen
ausgesprochenen Entschluss, unter abwaltenden Verhältnissen
sich nicht länger als Seminarleiter verpflichten zu können,
erlaubt sich der Unterzeichnete – hiermit – das in seinem ersten
Kontrakte auf den Monat März beschränkte Kündigungs-
recht, in Übereinstimmung mit der in diesem Kontrakte ent-
haltenen Verständigung, zu gebrauchen und als Rektor
des Seminars hiermit seine Resignation zu unterbreiten.

To the Board of Trustees of the Gymnastic Faculty Seminar
About 2 ½ months ago, the signed below had an appointment with spokesman Theo Stempfel, at which time he discussed thoroughly the relationship between himself and individual officers of the Board of Trustees. The signed below demonstrated the conditions which to him appear as obstacles in his role as a gymnastic leader and president of the seminar. He ascribed these
conditions to decisions made and measures taken by the Board of Trustees as well as to the current mutual attitudes and outlook caused by such measures.
In addition, the signed below pointed out the critiques based on the current examination procedures and incorrect conclusions. He especially pointed to the exams results which were withheld by the seminar committee and which contributed to the currently existing conditions.
Immediately following the last exam, the undersigned sought an interview with another
member of the Board of Trustees in which interview he referred again to the differences in the seminar courses and the examination method employed in the exams among other matters.
Without further discussion of the arising unpleasantness caused by the current mentioned conditions due to the occasionally taken and deemed necessary measures (not being aware of anything to contradict this) and considering the afore expressed decision that he can no longer commit to being the dean of the seminar under the existing conditions, the undersigned takes advantage of his right to hand in his notice as the Dean of the seminar as stated in his first contract for the month of March.
