Meeting on March 18, 1916.

Present: F. Vonnegut, Stempfel, Rath, Scherer, Pantzer, Lieber and Westing.

Decided to nominate any Gymnastic Teachers Seminary graduates who have worked

successfully as gymnastic teachers for 25 years or longer and are still working as such for the award of the title “G. G.” and submit their names to the out of town Board members for their vote. The members must be made extra aware that one vote against a candidate is enough to deny him the diploma.

The Administrative Office presented the summer course schedule. A committee made up of Scherer, Rath, Lieber and Westing was instructed to take care of the following issues still open:

tuition amount, agreement with the Canoe Club and military training class.

The following proposal submitted by the Administrative Office regarding changes in the requirements for the kind of diploma was accepted:

“After list of aggregate points in catalog, add: “Providing, however, that in addition to the above total aggregates the following number of A’s be acquired: With highest honor, 40 A’s, with high honor, 30 A’s; with honor, 20 A’s.””

Scherer moved to require from students who wish to receive tuition credit due to participation in German class they achieve 80% instead of 70% as it was until now. This particular paragraph now states as follows:

“Tuition is free the second and every subsequent semester to matriculates belonging to class C who pursue with profit one of the college courses and obtain at the end of each semester in all the exercises in German prescribed for them, including the electives offered in that language, not less than 80 per cent.”

Motion granted.

Rath moved to have two articles by Louis Appel and Geo. Altmann, published in the “American Turner” encouraging young men to receive their education at the Seminary, printed in a special format and use them for advertisement and promotion of the Seminary. Motion granted.
