Writing Skills
The Nature of Writing
Since writing is a way to communicate with others in written form, everything should be clear. Writing is a way of producing language by putting words or ideas into some medium.
The Writing Process
If writers are editing or worrying about mechanics in the drafting, drafting, and revising stages, the flow of ideas and quality of writing suffer. Drafting At this stage, writers focus on writing fluency and are not preoccupied with grammatical accuracy.
Requirements of Good Writing
Planing, that is thinking about what comes to the writers' head, what they are going to say or write. In other words, the authors revise their text based on given feedback and do a global check to make sure that their writing can be understood by the readers.
The Purposes of Writing
It means work that is based on one's point of view (opinion, attitude and observation) about other matters that occur in one's environment. To entertain, the sole purpose is to give readers something to enjoy in a written joke from the writer. Expressing ideas, the writer expresses his feelings, expressions, personality, likes and dislikes in his writing. Informing, the purpose is to give readers knowledge about something, give information to readers or students. The Use of Writing Diary in Teaching Recount
The ability to create and understand various short functional texts, monologues and essays in the form of procedural, descriptive, retelling and report. It seems that the actual process of writing helps the students to learn. The mental activity of constructing proper written texts is all part of the ongoing learning experience.
Writing Assessment
The process approach encourages students to experiment with ideas through writing and share the writing with their classmates and get feedback from several people to help them figure out what to say and how to say it. The product is, after all, the end goal: it is the reason for the process of writing, drafting, revising and editing. Without this we see the final product steadily in view, we simply drown ourselves in a series of revisions.
T Test

Recount Text
The Nature of Recount Text
A retelling is a piece of text that retells past events, usually in the order in which they happened. In my opinion, retelling text is a text that tells the reader about a story, action or today's activity that happened in the past.
The Purpose of Recount Text
The recount text can be factual information, such as a news, story or procedural information, examples are vacation stories or meeting the artist's idol. In my opinion, the purpose of narrative text is to entertain and inform readers, to document a series of events and evaluate their significance in some way, to list and describe past experiences by retelling the events in the order in which they occurred. .
Types of Recount Text a. Personal Recount
Imaginative recount is a recount that assumes an imaginary role and gives details of events (A Day in the Life of a Roman Slave: How I Invited…). A personal comment and/or evaluative comments, interspersed throughout the event name evaluation report. A reorientation that “concludes” the series of events or retells what will ultimately happen. e.
Diary Writing
The Nature of Diary
A journal is typically a notebook, a notebook with blank pages, or any source where students can record thoughts, reactions to learning experiences, and even innermost fears about a learning activity. Regardless of the particular format, there are often entries of daily experiences, insights and problems: "Diary writing usually involves the unstructured, chronological recording of the events of a person's life" as they are perceived. The advantages of journaling in writing retelling text are that students can apply the use of simple past tense in context and they can organize their ideas using correct grammar, in this case simple past tense, good mechanics and rich vocabulary.
In my opinion, a diary is a set of notebooks about what one thinks, does, feels at a particular moment.
The Benefits of Diary
By writing diaries, the students are free to express their ideas, experiences, activities that happen in their life. Although writing a diary seems a simple thing, it can be an effective way to develop and improve a good understanding and help the students to their experiences in everyday life routine. Making time each day to journal in one sentence, one paragraph, or one page creates a good writing habit for those who want to improve skill.
Implementation of Diary Writing in EFL
In this process, the teacher can apply the students' diary as media to write the students' daily experiences. The teacher can ask the students to write about their experience on each day of a week. Every day the teacher can ask the students to collect their diary about their activity from a day before.
After a week, the teacher can ask the students to rewrite their diary in a retelling text.

For the short-term goals, the teacher needs to help the students, so the students are going to have significant motivation. Both of them are going to help the students to get their motivation to learn English.
The topics and activities taught in the classroom will be interesting to the students.
Quasi Experiment
With the research topic and problem identified, it is now time to conduct a more intensive literature search. Once asked, the research questions or hypotheses form the basis for planning all other parts of the research: design, materials and data analysis. For example, suppose the research question is to determine what effects students watching CNN have on their knowledge of current events.
While statistical analysis procedures vary greatly in complexity, the appropriate options for a particular experiment will be defined by two factors: the research questions and the type of data.

In purposive sampling, the subject is not determined by degree, randomness, or area, but by the particular purpose. The writer takes two participants from the second grade sample. The instruments used in this study were intended to measure students' performance in writing skills, especially in writing English retelling texts. Interpreting the data analysis answers the problem of the study. The writer concludes the activity of the research whether writing a diary has an effect on the students.
There are many forms that can be used to measure the reliability of the test.

For the pretest table above, it can be seen that there were 2 students (5%) whose score was placed in the very poor category. 7 students (17.5%) were classified as Good. Meanwhile, the post-test table shows that there were 6 students (15%) who were placed in the fair category. We can see that the student's highest score is 75 and the student's lowest score is 40.
For the pretest table above, it can be seen that there were 2 students (5.13%) whose scores were classified in the very poor category. Meanwhile for the table of post-test, it can be seen that there were 10 students (25.64%) whose scores were classified in the fair. Whereas in the pretest there were 2 students (5.13%) whose scores were classified in the very poor category.

- Interpretation
Based on the calculation used in the SPSS program, the asymptotic significance of the post-test in the experiment class was 0.206 and. Based on the result of the homogeneity pretest, the significance of about 0.975 can be known. Based on the result of the homogeneity posttest, the significance of about 0.137 can be known.
Firstly, based on the calculation of Post Hoc Test SPSS program used above, the experimental class of diary writing showed a significant value lower than alpha (0.004 < 0.05).
Discussion
Thus, it concludes that the use of a written diary affects students' fluent writing and the result of learning motivation VIII. class of Mts Muslimat NU Palangka Raya.
Conclusion
First, the pre-test score of the experimental class reveals that the mean score was 58.6 which was in the fair category. It can be concluded that the writing fluency of the control group students improved from a mean score of 74.82 to 73.33. Third, the post-test result notes that the mean score of the experimental class was higher than that of the control class.
And the result of learning motivation finds that the mean score of the experimental class was higher than that of the control class.
Suggestion
Therefore, the hypothesis which states: "There is a significant effect of using journal writing towards writing fluency and learning motivation" is accepted. This research only aims to find the importance of the journal writing technique in the teaching-learning process of writing. Prospective researchers can also combine the writing journal with the outline to make it easier for students to start writing.
