RESEARCH CONCLUSIONS AND SUGGESTIONS
A. Conclusions
By the discussion about directive speech acts in the movie script before, it can be concluded that there are conclusion as follows:
1. The result of this study has been done. Based on Yule, the kinds of directive speech acts in Sonic the Hedgedog movie are namely suggest, forbid and invite.
Based on the analysis of the kinds of directive speech acts, there are 54 utterances of directive speech acts considered as command. It is the most common type of directive speech acts found in the analysis of the research.
Command utterance of directive speech acts often used by the character in the movie script because the setting situation of the utterance happened. Then, there are 11 utterances belong to request, 9 utterances belong to suggest, 6 utterances belong to forbid and 2 utterances belong to invite.
2. Besides, directive speech acts can be expressed in three form. They are imperative, declarative and interrogative. Those were divided into 52 data imperative, 10 data interrogative and 20 data declarative. Actually, Sonic the Hedgedog is the movie that is found the conflict and action in their daily activity.
Therefore, the use of language is more briefly and straight to the point. Based on those explaination, the researcher find the kinds and forms of directive speech acts in sonic the hedgehog movie script (2020) by Josh Miller in accordance with the theory from Yule about directive speech acts. In fact, the researcher find there are so many directive speech acts use in sonic the hedgehog movie script.
B. Suggestions
Based on the analysis of directive speech acts in the sonic the hedgedog movie script, the researcher purposed some suggestions for the reader as follows:
1. For the students
Particularly the English Department Students who interested in conducting research related speech acts study. They are expected to explore directive speech acts classification in accordance with various ideas of other experts. Besides, it expected to them to analyzed directive speech acts in other media such as movie, novel, poem and short story or folk.
2. For the other researchers
It is expected to conduct future research related to the topic with various analysis. It is also expected that the other researcher can take this research as a reference for conducting similar research and broaden the theory applied in this research.
3. For the Readers
The result of this study can be used as a reference and give additional information for the readers who want to know about directive speech acts.
