CONCLUSION AND SUGGESTION A. Conclusion
In this chapter, the researcher concludes the results of the research based on the findings of the data analyzed by the researcher. The results of this research were the type of figurative language used by Adele’s song in Album 25 and the contextual meaning of the figurative language used by Adele’s song in Album 25. The conclusion is the answer to the research question by seeing the result of the discussion.
In this research it was found that there were 7 types of figurative languages in 5 Adele’s songs. Then researcher found 21 sentences that use figurative languages, namely 11 hyperboles, 2 metaphors, 2 personifications, 2 similes, 1 oxymoron, 1 paradox, 2 repetitions and there are 3 types of figurative language that are not found namely synecdoche, imagery, and irony. The researcher also analyzed the contextual meaning of the 21 sentences contained in Adele’s song. From 21 sentences that use figurative language researcher compile figurative language into 7 types and then analyze the contextual meaning contained in each figurative language.
Based on the result,figurative language is one of the most important parts of writing song lyrics. Knowing the types of figurative language and contextual meaning contained in figurative language is important because it can help the reader understand the purpose of the literally work itself. The use of figurative language in writing song can also make the lyric of song more meaningful and more attractive.
B. Suggestion
The suggestion is expected to make better in the future. The researcher gives some suggestions for the reader and the further researcher. The explanation is explained as followings:
1. For the Reader
It can help the reader to get information and get knowledge about figurative language. Figurative language can be used to help the reader to know and understand the meaning of the song. So, when the reader listens to a song, they know what the meaning of the lyrics of the song.
2. For Further Researcher
The researcher suggests the next researcher to develop this research, so that this research will be more complete. The researcher considers that there are still shortcomings in this research, which is that the researcher admits that it is still unclear in describing the data obtained from the research that has been done. The researcher also hopes that in further research it can be analyze other type of figurative language with different expert’s theories.
