CONCLUSION AND SUGGESTION

A. Conclusion

According to the research that has been done by researchers about The Effect of Questioning Strategy towards Students' Reading Comprehension at The Eleventh Grade Students in SMAN 1 Ciruas, it can be concluded that Students' achievement in reading comprehension can be seen from the average value on the pre-test and post-test. The average value of the pre-test representing the attainment of students before being taught using the Questioning Strategy which is 75,4, and the average value of the post-test representing the achievement of students after being taught using the Questioning Strategy which is 86,8. Based on these data, the post-test scores were greater than the pre-test scores, or in other words, students' achievement in reading comprehension increased after being taught using the Questioning Strategy.

Furthermore, using the Questioning strategy is proven to be effective for teaching reading comprehension. This can be seen from the post-test results which are higher than the pre-test results in the experimental class. In addition, in the experimental class the highest

post-test score is 100 and the lowest is 60, while in the control class the highest post-test score is 100 and the lowest is 30. Moreover, the value was obtained to be 4.20. After being compared with , we found that . In this comparison, is accepted while is rejected. In other words, Questioning Strategy has a significant effect on students' reading comprehension skills.

From the conclusions above, it indicates that the questioning strategy can be used by the teacher as one of the teaching strategies for reading comprehension. Additionally, questioning strategies can support teachers in varying learning strategies in teaching reading comprehension.

B. Suggestion

Taking into consideration the findings of this study, the researcher would like to make the following suggestions:

1. It is very important for teachers to create a learning environment that is fun, creative, and more effective to achieve learning objectives. Knowing that teachers still apply conventional learning strategies, teachers should explore other learning

strategies, one of which is the Questioning Strategy which has been proven to improve students' reading comprehension skills.

2. It is important for students to continue to hone their reading comprehension skills and enrich their vocabulary.

3. The results of this study indicate that there is a positive effect that can improve students' reading comprehension skills with the questioning strategy, but judging from the calculation of the effect size, the effect of the dependent variable towards the independent variable is still relatively weak. Therefore, it is hoped that future researchers will conduct the research with larger sample.
