I also want to thank all my professors, President Mohler, and all the faculty and staff of Southern Seminary. I would like to thank the members of my PhD cohort who have been a constant source of humor, encouragement and support over the past three years. He is my "Paul", and I am honored to be his "Timothy". I would also like to thank Susan Lockmiller and Karen Brooks, who served as administrative assistants and helped me balance family, school, and ministry.
INTRODUCTION
5 In ch. However, the literature review does not yield a set of best practices for equipping pastors to lead ministers in church-based pastoral training programs. Most of this chapter focuses on reviewing the literature available on pastoral training and ministerial leadership.
This part of the research examines these passages to understand how these texts relate to the biblical precedent for the role of the local church in the pastoral education process. The second semester focuses on the ministry of the Word and administration in the local church.
Preparation
Although the parameters of this study did not directly align with the OLA instrumentation, the categories of the OLA instrument were extremely beneficial for interviewing, coding, and analyzing servant leadership within the sample population. For the purpose of this research, this study analyzed the data collected from each case using the categories of servant leadership as defined by the OLA.
Data Collection
Data Analysis
Contacting and scheduling interviews with pastoral training leaders in the survey sample. All three churches in this study have church-based pastoral training programs that aim to develop their students in servant leadership. The research was designed to identify the common factors and best practices of the sample cases.
Several practices aligned with the six OLA categories emerged in the three sample training programs. The following practices and values are defined as the high values of the Church School of the Service of the Cross. As for the second category, the "local church," all the training that takes place in the ministry school takes place under the auspices of the Church of the Cross.
Personal and spiritual development is essential to the success of the Family Church residency program. It is clear from the data that the focus of the Aspire program is on people development. A high value of the local church is also reflected in the curriculum of the Aspire program on ecclesiology.
The goal was accomplished and a set of best practices really emerged from the data.
CONCLUSIONS
As can be seen in table 7, some of the categories of the OLA descriptors emerged frequently in the research, while others were less prominent. Focusing on the development of the individual allowed servant leadership to emerge naturally within the life of the student. The on-the-job teaching of the church-based pastoral training programs studied in this research helped to destroy the corporate approach to success in the minds of the participants, giving them a stronger value of servant leadership within the local church. gave
One of OLA's six categories is about building community among those in the workplace. This research confirmed the importance of the categories of servant leadership as outlined by Jim Laub and OLA, while also addressing areas that are lacking in the current literature. 12. This type of intentional community brings alignment to the program around the church's mission, vision, and values.
Working with the detailed and sinful complexities of the people they serve in the local church will help students lead as servants. Working with people in difficult situations will help develop a heart of compassion that leads to servant leadership in the pastor's life. Each of the pastoral training programs in this study demonstrated strong servant leadership at the top of their organization.
A multi-case study of the six Southern Baptist seminaries in the area of servant leadership would produce a set of best practices that could be shared between all Southern Baptist seminaries and non-Southern Baptist seminaries.

The Church and Homosexuality – Please incorporate some of the following questions into your paper. We do not want you to simply defend a position but
Can a person in an active homosexual relationship (who you know is unrepentant about their homosexual lifestyle) come to a Growth Group. What if the individual is unrepentant and continues to come to corporate worship and even small group. Imagine that a local newspaper/television station/secular blogger wanted to interview you about the issue and specifically the big questions of the day (same-sex marriage, ordination of homosexual pastors/ministers, Chick-fil-a controversy, etc.) ).
What if they tried to engage you in an argument or argument, or say something to give them great pleasure. How would you answer these types of questions as you direct them (and others) to Jesus. How does the gospel apply to these issues and how would you make (and keep) it central? . 2) The Church and Gender Roles – After you have briefly defended the biblical positions, please include some of the following questions in your paper:.

Family Church Network Residency Program
Course Syllabus: Year Two
For residents who successfully completed Year One (Y1), Year Two (Y2) seeks to build on the learning opportunities from the first year of the program by adding practical application. This syllabus will be the tool used to guide the second year of the program. It includes all the information needed to successfully complete the program, including requirements, expectations, and assignments.
As in Y1, the goal of the program is to prepare each resident in the field of ministry in which they will serve in preparation for launching new church plantations exclusively within the Family Church network. The following individuals will be responsible for overseeing the program, facilitating program training and discussions, and providing progress evaluations to residents. Steve is originally from Georgia and moved to West Palm Beach in the spring of 2012.
A native of South Florida, Jimmy has lived in the West Palm Beach area most of his life. After serving in Student Ministry for 25 years, he successfully led the launch of our first multi-site campus, Family Church @ Abacoa. Eric has successfully planted and pastored two churches in Palm Beach County, as well as served in other various capacities on church staffs.
Having served as a children's director for over 16 years, she has a passion for leadership and is dedicated to training the next generation to follow a vocation into service.

What we're trying to teach them with that is that no matter where you go, you better go to school where you are if you want to be effective. Nathan A.: We realized at twenty-three that we were really struggling to have interpersonal time with those guys. Nathan A.: We've had boys as young as twenty-four, but usually we want them to be twenty-five or older.
Nathan A.: We do at least twice a year, especially on some subjects, we have the women. Nathan A.: We've had a few talk about wanting to plant through Imago Dei, and I've just unpacked. Nathan A.: We're even thinking about it, we've done this before, but not on the scale I'd like.
Nathan A.: We want to see it developed on the front end, and then try to grow it by having them be small group leaders on the back end. Nathan A.: Of course we let them go through these resources, but the main way is that everyone's ministry project is basically leading a small group. Nathan A.: I go back to the stuff we're trying to do with some of those articles like Cross and Criticism and others.
We try to really cultivate that, teach them how to be like that.
