Unfortunately, as shown above, confusion exists in today's church about the meaning and practice of the term. These two areas are well combined to help me gain a broader understanding of the subject of revival. What are Roberts' views on the global church and God's movements in other parts of the world.

13 Roberts shared in the interview about the impact of Scripture being posted all over the sanctuary. The first event was on the last night of the conference during the general meeting. Roberts' discussion of the Church's name in many ways illustrates his tumultuous time in the Church.

People who are not involved in the prayer life of the church are not involved in the real world. In his teachings on revival, Roberts points out that one of the primary causes of lack of vitality in the church today is an inappropriate view of God. The last four sermons in the book fit into the restoration section of the fourfold gospel.

The proof of the revival will be a lifetime of faithful service to the Lord by the individual and the church concerned. One of his goals as a young man was to read all the books ever written on the subject of revival. It is for this reason that Roberts focuses on the history of the church in revival.

Edwin Orr

The end of the book outlines some general features of revival and its lasting benefits to the Church. Before the first part of the book, Roberts introduces his topic and discusses the reasons why he believes many in the church do not have a biblical view of conversion. The final main section of the book, Repentance, discusses the results of repentance in the believer's life.

Additionally, in the next chapter of the book, he goes on to outline when to expect revival. The purpose of the previous chapter was to highlight the important emphasis that Richard Owen Roberts places on repentance and history in the study of revival. His exact comments can be found at the end of the transcript included in the appendix.

Awakening.9 The reason Roberts chose this time in American church history is that he believes it is the period in which the church most resembled a New Testament church. It also demonstrates Roberts' deliberate focus on bringing historical revivals to the wider attention of the church today. For this reason, it is important to consider some of the most recently published works on the subject.

Davis's book demonstrates one of the most glaring misunderstandings about revival in recent church history. We do not have to wait for a general outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the church and the nation. Another element missing from much of the current revival literature is a focus on how God has moved in the past.

First, Roberts' life and ministry has been in the United States, so he is more familiar with the state of the church in this country. Finally, much of Roberts' focus has been on the time period of the First Great Awakening, a time when the church was centered in Europe and America. Roberts' preference in this area is likely an overcorrection of the strong emphasis on God's love and grace in the church today and church leaders avoiding the subjects of God's judgment, wrath, and punishment.

CONCLUSION

Above the pulpit, a bow that said: "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today and forever". And as I said around the walls, plaques with biblical references on them. But this is what has happened to me and I need help.' And this dear man said to me, 'We have a room here in the mission that I will assign you. He will be bitter if you continue to resist.” "Well," I said, "I haven't really resisted, it just seems absurd." And he said, "now is the day." So he took me from the sanctuary through this gate in the front and there was a long hall.

I want to know what the impact is, what's really going on?” And this dear man said to me, “You know the doctor hates statistics. Next Sunday, God willing, the doctor will preach from ...,” the passage was quoted. Otherwise, I will give you instructions and I will not receive instructions from you.” And they said, “We will go.” And I said, “I can't stop you from trying, but I know I will be here until the Lord removes me. " So I had a wonderful year of preaching.

I preached twenty-six messages from the Sermon on the Mount, and last Sunday the text read: 'deliver us from evil.' And we have often laughed and said they thought they were delivered from evil, we know we were delivered from evil. Shortly after my call to public service, I was thirteen years old at the time, father said to me one evening, 'now you will preach here tonight.' And so my preaching service began, because I went with my father regularly to these Friday evenings. gatherings, and that's where I started preaching. So we'll start on Sunday night instead, and then I'll preach on Sunday morning.' And I said, 'I don't know what's going on, Bob, but I know you're out of God's will "Who do you think you are to tell me?" I said.

He kept saying, 'Well, I have to take you over to the church so you can familiarize yourself with the arrangement, and so we can have a little time of prayer.' Well, it was late Saturday night, finally he said, 'Let's go over.' And so, we looked around a little bit and he said, 'Now we have to have a prayer.' And I realized that the prayer he prayed was to the unknown god. And so, we went on Sunday morning and he said, 'Well, now you're just sitting here in the pastor's office while I take care of some things around the building.' And in walks this very brave woman puts something on the pastor desk and introduces herself to me. Roberts will preach.' And so, I knew it was going to happen anyway, so I was, as I said, prepared.

And so I said to him, 'Would you please repeat that quote?' And he repeated it exactly as he did. So when we got married, it was with the understanding that this is for life - and no matter what comes, it doesn't matter, this is for life. I remember one time we have two children—as I think you know—and one is with Intervarsity in Maryville, Tennessee, and very unhappy because Intervarsity is anything but Christian in many ways.

So, we have a granddaughter - our elder son has six children - and the eldest of them has an illegitimate child and is a great grief to her parents. Now, the Sunday we left the second place to come here, I don't know how many, but any number of people said to me, 'We're facing reality for the first time, we'll never have another preacher like you.” And I didn't mean, 'Oh, I'm the greatest pastor they ever had.' did they ever do what they knew.
