This project took place as part of the ministry of the Covenant Fellowship Church of West Orange, New Jersey (CFC). Another key passage regarding parental discipleship of children is in the middle of the Psalms.

Introduction Introduction

Therefore, before an in-depth consideration of Ephesians 6:1-4, an excursus on the role of women in spiritual education is given. Then there will be an examination of the rest of the Bible for relevant passages that focus on the role of women in the family, which can shed light on the topic of family discipleship.

Ephesians 5:22-33 is a critical passage to consider before examining parental (and especially paternal) responsibilities of family discipleship in

The godly wife, for her part, submits to her husband in everything (Eph 5:24),81 which would include his leadership in family worship and discipleship. As her husband seeks to lead the family in worship, she portrays a supportive attitude toward the children, adding credibility to the importance of what her husband seeks to lead before their children's watchful eyes.

The marriage relationship is more likely to produce godly children when there is a strong, loving relationship between husband and wife based on a

The second section is a discussion of the place of family worship in a spiritually healthy family. Ruebush writes: "The family is the heart of society, and the home altar is the heart of the Christian family. According to Leon Smith, parents should be considered "the nurturing servants of the church in the home."14.

Anthony and Kit Rae, "Children's Ministry in the Context of the Family for Spiritual Growth," in Anthony and Anthony, A Theology for Family Ministries, ch. In the aftermath of World War II, the segmented program for family members became more prevalent. A third trend, also common in the latter half of the twentieth century, was the Education-Programmatic Family Ministry.

The fourth goal was to increase parents' commitment and responsibility for their children's learning, which was learned from the lessons learned from the third goal. The purpose of the project was to equip Christian parents who entrust their children to the educational service of St.

1 Many questions and wording were taken from a treatise on a similar topic written by Bradley Bruton Boyette, "Equipping Fathers at Parkridge Baptist Church in Coral Springs, Florida, to Lead in the Discipleship of Their Children" (D.Ed.Min. Project ), The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, 2017). I have a strong understanding of what it means to be the disciple maker of my home. I have a very good knowledge of what the Scriptures have to say about the role of fathers leading in the discipleship of their children.

I believe that it is the father's responsibility to lead in the discipleship of children. I lead my home in family discipleship (designated time for Bible reading and prayer) (check only one). I have a clear process (the big picture of what I should do) to spiritually lead my wife and children.

Parents must tap into the fullness of knowledge and love they personally cultivate in their own lives and then diligently train their children in these ways. For he established a testimony in Jacob and established a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers to make known to their children; that the generation to come might know them, the children that would be born, that they might arise and preach them to their children, that they might put their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments; and must not be like their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation, a generation that did not set its heart aright, and whose spirit was not faithful to God. KEY PARENT DISCIPLESHIP PASSAGES TEACH THAT FATHERS ARE ESPECIALLY CHARGED TO LEAD FATHERS ARE ESPECIALLY CHARGED TO LEAD THEIR CHILDREN'S DISCIPLES.

Parents do great harm to their children and themselves when they indulge and allow backbiting, snobbery and imperfect obedience. They must add seriousness to obedience by reminding their children of the consequences of disobedience. Women are often more considerate of their children's emotions, but men need to learn this more.

HUSBANDS AND WIVES WILL CONSIDER THEIR MARRIAGES EVEN MORE WORTHFUL BECAUSE OF THE SPREADING OF THE GOSPEL, MORE WORTHFUL BECAUSE OF THE SPREADING OF THE GOSPEL, IN THE RELATIONSHIP OF CHRIST AND THE CHURCH. Take your children to pray once a month on Saturday morning if they are old enough (and you go too!). What kind of neighbors and school friends do you let your children spend alone time with? Remember that your discipleship efforts can be destroyed because of other people you let your children be with.

Read a few verses from the Bible or a story bible, depending on the age of your children. First of all, there is one test that your children must pass, and that is on the Day of Judgment. Give good books into your hands or into the hands of your children when they can read, especially on the Lord's day when they are better served by reading something Christian than what they would read on other days.

You will diligently teach them to your children and talk about them when you sit in your house, when you walk on the road, when you lie down and when you get up. IF YOU ARE NOT ACTIVELY DOING THIS, YOUR EFFORTS TO DISCIPLINE YOUR CHILDREN WILL EVEN SERIOUSLY LACK. 6:6: "But when you pray, go into your room, shut the door, and pray to your Father who is in secret.

Please, if there is anyone trying to force your schedule against God's agreement with you in the church, just say so. Your attitude toward attending church on the Lord's Day and other times will teach your children a lot about how important it really is. 4:8-9: Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is righteous, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is praiseworthy, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, consider these things.

They contain a call to parents to pass on the faith to their children, both directly from the Bible and in conversations that arise in the extraordinary and everyday events of life. Explore the importance of a happy, healthy, and holy marriage relationship in your children's discipleship from Ephesians 5:22-32 and other verses. If you think family worship or discipline (or whatever) should be different at home, talk to your husband out of earshot of the kids.
