objectives/inte nded learning outcomes
ILO-1: An ability to use engineering principles in designing technology products related to the field of agricultural engineering science
ILO-3: An ability to manage and utilize natural resources (agriculture and environment) and the supporting resources (human resources, infrastucture, etc.) in an optimal way and sustainable
Objectives: This course explains the understanding of soil and water preservation, the principles of water and wind erosion, erosion control
methods, erosion control buildings, embankments and reservoirs, flood and sedimentation control.
Knowledge: familiarity with the concepts of soil and water preservation, the principles of water and wind erosion, erosion control methods, erosion control buildings, embankments and reservoirs, flood and sedimentation control
Skills: cognitive – Apply management principles in the management and utilization of agricultural resources in the development of innovations in the field of agricultural engineering. Phsycomotoric - practical abilities to handle water and wind erosion, embankments and reservoirs control, flood and sediment control.
Competences: Student able to evaluate slopes of land in order to apply suitable methods to resist soil erosion
Content Courses:
1) Introduction to the scope of soil and water conservation 2) The theory of the process of damage to land and water sources 3) Introduction of soil and water conservation methods
4) Introduction of surface water runoff 5) Introduction of Curve Number (CN)
6) Basic analysis of rain data for designing runoff water catchment channels 7) Groundwater components
8) Introduction of water resources
9) Introduction of government regulations on groundwater 10) Environmental conservation law system
Laboratory practice:
1. Learn the basic concepts of soil and water conservation.
2. Observe the slope of the land in order to apply the appropriate method for dealing with soil erosion
