How is the implementation of project-based learning in the teaching of English instruction evaluation in sixth semester students of the English department of STAIN Ponorogo in academic year 2014/2015. The researcher wants to know thoroughly what the implementation of project-based learning is like in teaching English instructional evaluation.

Data Source

The researcher collects the data, codes and analyzes the collected data, compresses the data, presents the data and then draws a conclusion from the data analysis.

Technique of Data Collection

The researcher not only watches and listens, but also directly interacts in the learning assessment activity of English teaching. So, the researcher knows all the activity, human behavior and the process of implementing project-based learning in teaching learning assessment in English.

Technique of Analyzing Data

Data visualization is the process of demonstrating the data either in the form of narrative text, matrices, graphs, networks or diagrams. The conclusion is thus written on the basis of the analysis of the observation, the interview and the documentation in relation to the research problem.

Checking of Data Validity

In this study, the researcher uses three kinds of technique to collect data namely: observation, interview and documentary. The researcher compares and checks the validity of collecting data among two perceptions of teacher and students.

Research Procedure

Therefore, by checking data validity, the researcher can gain access to important knowledge about the behavior, such as motives of subject use project-based learning, the perceptions of the behavior of others and soon. This chapter analyzes the reason, the implementation, the problem faced by the teacher when using project-based learning in teaching English instructional evaluation to sixth semester students of the English department STAIN Ponorogo in the academic year 2014/2015.

Definition of Project

Project work will help students in communication and become aware of communication as in the production of the final product. The project is therefore a set of tasks involving work in the real world, design solution and the development of inquiry skills to achieve a study objective.

Learning is what I do as a person, to become a better person.38 Learning is therefore everything that a person does at any time, everywhere and acquires new knowledge. Or learning is all you have things locked in your mind, other people can teach you and friends can teach you.

Project-based learning is derived from a teaching/learning model that enables students to be more creative and receptive to. Project-based learning is an instructional model that engages students in exploring compelling problems.

Difficulties may arise as a result of poor planning and incomplete preliminary organization of the main project's activities. Poor time and process management can also be the consequence of choosing the wrong driving question for the project, as well as overestimating the students' potential and competence to solve the task. In general, the choice of appropriate evaluation methods is one of the weakest elements in project-based learning models.

It is an integral part of the instructional program and provides basic information for a variety of educational decisions. Evaluation is thus a process to determine the extent to which the learning objectives are achieved by the student. The use of evaluation techniques means that a useful proposal is made and that the user is clearly aware of the goal.

Most of the misuse of tests and other evaluation.. techniques can be avoided by viewing evaluation as a process of obtaining information on which educational decisions can be based.72 According to Norman E. Gronlund, the principles of evaluation are the processes that determine for the objectives and to get a complete picture of a student's performance. Summative evaluation is designed to determine the extent to which the teaching objectives have been achieved and is mainly used for the awarding of course grades or to certify pupil mastery of the intended learning outcomes. It is defined as the extent to which a test measures a representative sample of the domain of tasks under consideration.

And the result of this study showed a positive effect in terms of learning outcome and learning process.

Theoretical Framework

Implementing project-based learning helps provide a learning environment that encourages children's cognitive, social and emotional development in a fun way. The effect of implementing project-based learning for teachers has become clearer and more comfortable, confidence in implementing the approach and recognition of the benefits of this approach for children. Project-based learning is one of the effective and appropriate strategies in teaching English instructional evaluation.

Project-based learning also has many advantages in teaching English instructional evaluation, there are: improve students' understanding of the material, make students active participants, and build students' critical thinking.

In addition, Presidential Decree Number 11 on the establishment of the State of Islamic College (STAIN) has been released and ratified by the Ministry of Religion on 25 Syafar 1418 H/30. June 1997. Based on the President's decision above, on academic year 1997/1998 Syari'ah Faculty in Ponorogo changed its status from Regional Faculty to STAIN. The change of status of Syari'ah Faculty of IAIN Sunan Ampel was STAIN Ponorogo was decided based on revolving letter from Institutional Director General of Islamic Religion number E/136/1997.

Since this change of status, State of Islamic College (STAIN) Ponorogo has pursued educational academic and professionalism by opening three departments; Syari'ah, Tarbiyah and Usuluddin. State islamic college of Ponorogo is the study center for Islamic knowledge development to create the madani communities. Implemented the learning process of Islamic knowledge and developed the academic, religious and humanistic mode.

The researcher asked about the nature of the use of project-based learning in teaching English instructional evaluation is presented in Appendix 6. The result of the third observation is shown in Appendix 4. The fourth observation was conducted on Friday, March 20, 2015 during the first period/ 7:00 AM to 8:40 AM in BC Building. The concept of project-based learning is student-centered, students as the protagonists of the learning process.

Based on LA's opinion, the researcher concluded that the implementation of project-based learning in teaching English language learning assessment can develop students' critical thinking in. discussion process. There are positive advantages of implementing project-based learning in teaching assessment in English for both teachers and students.

In addition, the project-based learning process can eliminate the examination test in the evaluation of English teaching.

DISCUSSION

Lecturer’s Reason of Using Project-Based Learning in Teaching English Instructional Evaluation

The third reason, using project-based learning will increase students' enthusiasm in learning English. The fourth reason, project-based learning, is to ask students to work in a group or cooperative learning method. The sixth reason, project-based learning method is very easy, and it can bring benefits to both students and teachers in the teaching of English instructional evaluation.

Based on the descriptive data above, the teacher paid more attention to the elements of project-based learning for the teaching process. Thus, students' roles in implementing project-based learning are problem solvers, decision makers, and investigators.

For that reason, the teacher uses project-based learning in teaching English .. members, the students also had the freedom to discuss and communicate with the group members. In the pre-task, the teacher greets and motivates the students to be active and creative in the English teaching evaluation class. In the sixth meeting, the students have understood the basic theory of English teaching evaluation.

From the explanation above, it can be concluded that the implementation of Project Based Learning on teaching English instructional evaluation at the sixth semester students of English department of STAIN Ponorogo gives the students to upgrade their knowledge by designing the project. Project-based learning is very useful for the students to gain the knowledge and theory of English instructional evaluation. The students feel comfortable and happy in English instructional evaluation class, because in the process of implementing Project Based Learning, the students have as an active participant.

The researcher concluded that the main advantages of Project Based Learning are to help the students in the process of understanding the material, upgrade the abilities and skills and also save a lot of time, especially to take the exam of English teaching evaluation eliminate.

CLOSING

Recommendations

The teacher must be creative to create a pleasant environment, innovative and motivate the students to be able to keep up with their studies. In addition to that, the teacher must build students' critical thinking and give students the opportunity to be active participants.
