ABSTRACT The aim of the study was to determine of eye vascular in local goat (Capra sp.) The study used a local goat, aged 2 years old.
Observation was made after specimen preparation.
The observations was documented using a digital camera and analyzed descriptively. The vascular to the eye originated from externa ophthalmica artery and divides into several branched musculares arteries, lacrimalis artery, rete mirabile ophthalmicum gives off supraorbitalis artery, ethmoidalis artery, anteriores ciliares arteries and
anastomoses with interna ophthalmica artery and devides into lateralis posterior longae ciliares arteries and medialis posterior longae ciliares arteries and the terminal branched into lateralis posterior shortae ciliares arteries and medialis posterior shortae ciliares arteries. Superficial temporalis artery gives off two branches lateralis inferior palpebral artery and lateralis superior palpebral artery. Malaris artery gives off two branched medial inferior palpebral artery and medial superior palpebral artery.

Mata (Organum visus) merupakan organ penglihatan yang penting bagi kehidupan makhluk hidup. Suatu pengurangan fungsi indera penglihatan bahkan kebutaan akan menyebabkan kerugian yang tak ternilai besarnya bagi seorang penderita (Mason, 1999). Penyakit pada mata tidak hanya dijumpai pada manusia, tetapi banyak juga dijumpai pada hewan ternak seperti domba dan kambing. Penyakit mata pada domba maupun kambing biasanya disebabkan oleh debu akibat transportasi yang jauh, kondisi kandang yang kotor, dan uap urin akibat lantai kandang panggung terlalu rendah. Beberapa penyakit yang terjadi pada mata khususnya pada bangsa caprinae telah dilaporkan oleh beberapa peneliti yaitu penyakit yang terjadi pada
conjunctiva dikenal dengan
keratoconjunctivitis (Belloy et al., 2003;
Giacometti et al., 2002;)
Saat ini, penanganan penyakit mata pada domba maupun kambing hanya sebatas pada pemberian obat-obatan, padahal banyak

kasus penyakit mata pada domba maupun kambing yang memerlukan tindakan pembedahan seperti trauma akibat benturan pada organ mata, luxation dan prolapsus bola mata akibat berkelahi atau benturan benda tumpul, kecelakaan yang menyebabkan robeknya kelopak mata, kerusakan pada kornea dan bagian dalam bola mata (Stades, 1998).
Dalam tindakan pembedahan mata, dokter hewan diharapkan memiliki pengetahuan tentang anatomi vaskularisasi pembuluh darah pada mata hewan sehingga dapat memperkecil resiko dan komplikasi yang ditimbulkan sewaktu operasi. Lebih lanjut, Mason (1999) menyatakan bahwa dengan semakin berkembangnya ilmu kedokteran, sistem vaskularisasi sangat diperlukan sebagai acuan bagi tindakan pembedahan, hal ini disebabkan karena pada setiap spesies memiliki perbedaan letak dan percabangan pembuluh darahnya.
Magilton (1970) melaporkan bahwa saat ini, para peneliti masih selalu mencari gambaran yang pasti dan terperinci mengenai gambaran vaskularisasi pembuluh darah dari berbagai spesies agar mempermudah dalam tindakan operasi.

ABSTRACT An experiment has been conducted to study the utilization of brewery waste in ration to improved the meat quality of lamb. High quality of lamb meat can be reached by manipulation of rumen fermentation. Tannins in brewery waste can decrease the activity of rumen microorganism and inhibite the rumen biohydrogenation processes. The experiment was conducted with an experimental method by in vivo technique, using 16 heads of local lamb, 4-5 months old, with body weight range of 5-10 kg. The trial was conducted for 150 days, using Completely Randomized Block Design with 4 replicates. The treatment tested were 4 levels of Brewery Waste : R1 = 12%; R2 = 24%; R3 = 36%
and R4 = 48%. The variables measured were : physical and chemical quality of meat. The result indicated, that the treatment tested significantly affect the meat quality physically, except to the
percentage of edible distal meat and proximal bone weight.
Based on the all variables measured, the research conclusion : (1) the utilization of brewery waste up to 48% dry matter ration, could be used, without any physiology and metabolism disturbance; (2) the highest increasing of unsaturated fatty acid was stearic acid (C18:0) as much as 54. 60%, was reach by R3 (36% brewery waste); the linoleic acid increased as much as 43.91% reach by R4 (48%
brewery waste); the oleic acid increased as much as 37.48% by R2 ( 24% brewery waste). From the result can be suggested that the need of tannin brewery waste as biohydrogenation inhibitor would be more effective and efficient whenever brewery waste usage has been increased up to 60% dry matter ration.

Peluang untuk mengembangkan ternak domba sangat terbuka lebar, karena 30 persen kebutuhan pangan dapat dicukupi oleh ternak.
Pengembangan potensi didukung dengan pesatnya pertambahan penduduk dan peningkatan pendapatan, serta peningkatan kesadaran tentang pentingnya gizi asal protein hewani. Konsumsi daging domba di Indonesia baru mencapai 0,24 g, sedangkan Jerman 3,3 g, di New Zealand 81,11 g. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa peluang untuk pengembangan ternak domba masih terbuka luas. Populasi domba di Indonesia sebanyak 7.549.316 ekor yang menyebar di Jawa Barat (46%), Jawa Tengah (27%) dan Jawa Timur (18%) (Direktorat Jenderal Peternakan, 2007).

Rendahnya konsumsi daging domba di Indonesia antara lain dipengaruhi oleh pandangan konsumen bahwa kandungan asam lemak jenuh pada daging domba dapat menyebabkan gangguan kesehatan seperti kolesterol, artherioskelorosis dan penyakit jantung koroner. Purbowati et.al (2005) menyatakan bahwa sebagian besar asam lemak daging domba lokal terdiri atas asam linoleat, oleat, palmitat dan stearat. Kandungan asam lemak laurat (C12:0), myristat (C14:0), palmitat (C16: 0), stearat (C18:0) pada otot bahu (shoulder) masing-masing 24,94 mg/100 g; 86,45 mg/100 g; 624,92 mg/100 g dan 373,52 mg/100 g.
Kandungan asam lemak jenuh pada daging domba disebabkan karena adanya proses biohidrogenasi asam lemak tak jenuh menjadi asam lemak jenuh dalam rumen, yaitu asam lemak tak jenuh oleat (18:1); linoleat (18:2) dan linoleat (18:3), dengan hasil akhir
