Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X SMAN 09 Bengkulu Selatan tahun ajaran 2022-2023. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah penggunaan video YouTube “mmmEnglish” berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kemampuan pengucapan siswa kelas X di SMAN 09 Bengkulu Selatan.

Based on the background of the study, the researcher proposed a research entitled "The Effectiveness of Online Media in Improving Students' English. The purpose of this study is to find out the effectiveness of the "mmmEnglish" with Emma youtube channel to Improving students' English Pronunciation skills at the tenth grade of SMA 09 South Bengkulu in the academic year 2022/2023.

The sample in this study is class X B students of SMAN 09 South Bengkulu in the Academic Year 2022/2023. Sampling in this study based on a specific purpose is experimental group and control group each of 24 people in each group. The sampling technique used in this study is a simple random sampling technique of the probability type.

According to Sugiyono (2013:57), simple random sampling is a technique that involves taking samples from members of the population, which is done randomly without considering the existing strata in the population. This means that this technique can be used when the number of sampling units in a population is not too large.

Technique Of The Collecting Data

In the control group, students were taught according to the teacher's method, namely the direct method is the most frequently used method in teaching. After the discussion, a post-test was given to both groups (experimental class and control class) and it was aimed at finding out the students' achievement, and the post-test was used to know the students' English pronunciation skills in learning English.

In the process of data collection, the first technique used was test testing, the test consisted of two types of pre-tests and post-tests, which contained learning materials that were to be tested to show the learning results from the control and control. The population of this study was 155 students consisting of X A, X B, X C, X D, X E, X F and the sample of this study was X B which consisted of 24 students. YouTube videos as a medium for teaching pronunciation had an effect on students' English pronunciation skills at SMAN 09 Bengkulu Selatan.

The writer obtained the result of a normality test using SPSS 26, which used Lilliefors Significance Correction. It can be seen that more than 0.05, it can be concluded that the data is homogeneous. There is no significant effect on students' pronunciation skills in English using online media (mmmEnglish) YouTube videos as media for teaching pronunciation in the tenth grade of SMAN 09 South Bengkulu.

DISCUSSIONS

The factors that influence the contribution of a significant effect is that through the use of videos of "mmmEnglish" YouTube videos, students can see material, which makes it easier for students in the experimental class to capture meaning in pronunciation practice. For the teacher, to keep students interested in coming to class, teachers need to be more inventive when coming up with teaching and learning activities. Therefore, it is expected that using YouTube videos in the classroom, especially "mmmEnglish" YouTube videos, will encourage students to participate more actively and enthusiastically.

In addition, it is planned that by incorporating YouTube videos, students will achieve better academic performance and make learning English more fun.
