This study aimed to explain how using the Guided Reading Method improves students' critical reading comprehension and to explain how the Guided Reading Method improves students' interpretive reading comprehension. This research method used classroom action research consisting of two cycles, the subject of which was the students of SMA Muhammadiyah Limbung of class XI IPA 1 in the academic year 2014/2015, consisting of 20 students, Gowa Regency and each cycle consisted of four meetings . The researcher's findings indicated that the guided reading method could improve the students' reading comprehension.
This was evidenced by reading the narrative text of the students' mean score in the cycle 2 test result of (78), which improved from the cycle 1 mean score (64). Based on the above findings, the researcher came to the conclusion that the use of the guided reading method could improve the students' reading comprehension. Especially when reading English texts, if the teaching strategy is suitable for the students, they will be happy to learn. Improving Critical Reading Comprehension Guided Reading Method in Eleventh Grade SMA Muhammadiyah Limbung. The result of the research should be useful information for teachers to know about guided reading.
The scope of the research is limited to improving critical reading comprehension and interpretive reading comprehension through guided reading. Using benchmark assessments or other systematic observation, the teacher has determined the approximate level of instruction for each student. The amount of guidance you, as a teacher, provide varies according to the ability and confidence of the students.
Sometimes after reading a text, the teacher expands the meaning of the text through writing, text analysis or another learning activity. The lesson can also include work with words based on the specific needs of the small group. Guided reading instruction is differentiated according to the needs of the group of students and to encourage individual students.
Guided reading should have a balanced amount of instructional time used for fiction and nonfiction time. You introduce the text to the students in a short conversation about the meaning, language and characteristics of the text. After reading, you and the students discuss the meaning of the text and revisit the text as necessary.
Based on the above definition, the researcher concludes that the definition of reading is the process of extracting meaning, information and ideas of the writer from the written text. They must have sufficient knowledge of a language that has a different system, including vocabulary and structure. Finally, the teacher must show cooperation and demand the performance of two sides of the same behavior.
Reading is a personal experience and the teacher cannot look over the student's shoulder. Some of the problems the students faced in reading comprehension are critical reading comprehension and interpretive reading comprehension.

- The Improvement of Critical Reading comprehension in the Students’ Narrative Text
Introduce the text: In the introductory text, the teacher asked a question to identify the cause of a problem for the students and may help them solve problems and motivate the students. The students read every step of the way: first they read by themselves, read slowly or softly, and then read silently. In this phase, the observation of students' participation in the teaching process, students' activity in asking questions, students' response to the test and answering the teacher's question, and students' ability to answer fact-tested.
Then, reflect by looking at the result of the observation, if it is the learning process of the students. Reading skill using Guided Reading method is well implied in the teaching process in SMA Muhammadiyah Limbung or not. Critical reading comprehension indicators were fact and opinion, and interpretive reading comprehension indicators were causative and conclusion sentences. Reading the text gave the students to discover the improvement of the students in reading.
The researcher used an observation sheet to find out the students' participation in teaching learning processes through a guided reading method using the checklist. The test was given to the students to find out the improvement of the students' reading. To know the participation of the students in the teaching learning process through the guided reading method, the researcher used the following percentage formula:
P = percent improvement in student scores X1 = average score of cycle 1. Gay in Nurul Inayah. Findings show improvement in students' reading comprehension in critical reading comprehension and interpretive comprehension, percentage of students' progress, and implementation of the guided reading method. It aims to detect the improvement of students' ability to read narrative text.
The result of data analysis revealed that teaching reading comprehension through Guided Reading Method can improve students. The students' ability to read the narrative text has improved; is shown by the difference score and improvement between cycle 1 and cycle 2 tests. The following table shows the improvement of students in critical reading comprehension, which consists of two indicators: fact and opinion.

The following table shows the students' interpretive reading comprehension, consisting of voice and closing. The improvement of the students' reading comprehension in terms of critical reading comprehension and interpretive reading. Based on the table, it was indicated that the improvement of the reading skills of the students through the guided reading method is successful.
Based on the percentage above, there is a significant improvement in students' reading ability by guided reading method. The results of the observation that has been made conclude that guided reading method improved students' response. The improvement of students' reading ability through guided reading method in critical reading comprehension Reading method in critical reading comprehension.
The researcher found that before the application of Guided Reading Method, the students' score was 50.5 (fair), but after the application of Guided Reading Method the students'. Improving the students' reading ability through guided reading method of interpretive reading comprehension Reading method of interpretive reading comprehension. Improving students' performance in reading narrative text through the Guided Reading Method had an effective effect.
In the analysis of students' interpretive reading comprehension, the researcher found that before applying the guided reading method, the students' score in D-. After applying the guided reading method in cycle I, the students' score was 64 (fairly good) and in cycle II the students' score was 78.5 (good). The use of Guided Reading Method is able to improve the fact and opinion in the reading comprehension of students in the eleventh grade of SMA Muhammadiyah Limbung in cycle I and the fact of improvement is 22.22%.
Using the guided reading method can improve cause-effect and closing sentences in reading comprehension of the students in the eleventh grade of SMA Muhammadiyah Limbung in Cycle I and the cause-effect improvement is 23.8% and the closing sentences is 19, 7%. The implementation of the guided reading method can improve the reading comprehension of the students in the eleventh grade of SMA Muhammadiyah Limbung. The implementation of the guided reading method could significantly improve the reading comprehension of the students in terms of students.
In this research, the author wants to know what is the improvement of students' reading comprehension by means of method namely "Guided Reading Method" and followed by the students' reaction to know the motivation and activity of students' teaching and learning process. But it is better to use this method to know the students' reading comprehension.
