THE TYPE OF PERSONALITY OF STUDENTS TO BECOME PROSPECTIVE ENGLISH TEACHERS AT ENGLISH PROGRAM IAIN PAREPARE. 2Sanja Tatalović Vorkapić“Importance of students' personality traits for their future work with preschoolers”. The title of this study is “The personality type of students to become potential English teachers in IAIN Parepare English program”.

Howis the profile of students' personality to become prospective teachers at the English Program IAIN Parepare. To find out the profile of students' personality to become prospective English teachers at the English Program IAIN Parepare.

REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE

Some Previous Research Findings

The result showed that participants who were emotionally stable (low neuroticism), extraverted and open individuals performed better on verbal fluency tasks.5. The study was conducted by Masdusi Masdudi, Asep Mulyani who researches personal competence and social competence of prospective biology students. The purpose of this study is to describe the personality competence and social competence of student biology teacher candidates at IAIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon School of Biology. The research instrument used is using a rating scale to measure the personality and social competences of student biology teacher candidates, and interviews to determine the department's efforts in developing the personality and social competences of student biology teacher candidates.

The conclusion in this study is that the personality competence and social competence of biology teacher candidate students at Tadris Biology fall into the very good category.6. In other studies that have focused on personality competencies and social biology competencies of prospective students, in this study more focus is placed on the personality of students who will become prospective teachers in the big five dimensions.

Some Pertinent Ideas

As far as researchers know, that research related to the personality of prospective teachers has only been investigated in the English Program IAIN Parepare. The personality of a child was reflected in daily behavior, the behavior of a child was still natural. According to John, Nauman and Soto, they said that the 50 items of Goldberg's IPIP test were very good for learning purposes.

It is also determined, ambitious and associated with performance in the workplace and the context of education and learning. What makes the teacher one of the defining professions is that a teacher is someone who provides personal, caring service to students by diagnosing their needs and by planning, selecting and using methods and assessment procedures designed to promote learning . In the early class situation, the teacher is the giver of knowledge, the controller and the authority.

As stated in the key terms section in the previous chapter, an English teacher is a person who teaches students English material, specifically an English subject. The goal of organizing something on the part of the English teacher is to get the students' input and participation in the English learning process. Harmer concluded this point with the following image. After the teacher's introduction, the students start the activity by completing the task given by the teacher.

According to Harmer's statement as an English teacher as a prompter, they should handle discretion sensitively and encouragingly. The teacher can act as 'the bridge' to convert the discussion topic into effective activities. There is no denying that students, whether they have learned hard or not, still need the teacher as a resource.

As a tool and as a resource, the English teacher must ensure that the general atmosphere of the students feels supported. According to Harmer, the English teacher must be able to work and observe, listen, watch and absorb the students at the same time.

Conceptual Framework

This figure illustrates the type of students' personality to become prospective English teachers at the English program IAIN Parepare, where personality is very important for prospective teachers to improve the quality of education.

The personality tendency toward extraversion implies an energetic approach to the social and material world; includes traits such as sociability, activity, assertiveness and positive emotionality. The following Figure 4.1 describes the respondent's tendency in the personality dimension of extraversion. Based on Figure 4.1, the above item shows that out of 70 respondents, 33 (47%) respondents (prospective teachers) have a tendency towards the extraversion personality type. The friendliness personality tendency contrasts a prosaic and communal orientation toward others with antagonism and includes traits such as altruism, tenderness, trust, and modesty. The following Figure 4.3 describes the tendency of respondents in the personality dimension of agreeableness.

Based on Figure 4.3, the above point shows that out of 70 respondents, 23 (33%) respondents (prospective teachers) have a tendency of Agreeableness personality type. The personality tendency that conscientiousness describes socially describes impulse control that enables task and goal directed behavior such as thinking before acting, delaying gratification, following norms and rules, and planning, organizing, and prioritizing tasks. Below is Figure 4.5 which depicts the respondent's tendency in the personality dimension of conscientiousness. Based on Figure 4.5, the above point shows that out of 70 respondents, 32 (46%) respondents (prospective teachers) have a tendency towards conscientiousness type of personality.

The personality tendency of neouroticism contrasts emotional stability and even temperament with negative emotionality, such as feeling anxious, nervous, sad, and tense. The following figure 4.7 describes the respondents' tendency in the personality dimension of neuroticism. From Figure 4.7, the point above shows that of the 70 respondents, 34 (49%) respondents (potential teachers) have a tendency towards the neuroticism personality type. The personality tendency toward openness describes the breadth, depth, originality, and complexity of an individual's mental and experimental life. The following figure 4.9 describes the respondent's tendency in the personality dimension of openness.

From Figure 4.9, the above point shows that of the 70 respondents, 32 (49%) respondents (potential teachers) have a tendency towards openness personality type. The description of the approval of the openness dimension point is described in table 4.5 and figure 4.10. FINDING AND DISCUSSION

Findings

The item approval description of the extraversion measure is described in Table 4.1 and Figure 4.2. Based on Figure 4.2, the item shown to be the most difficult to agree with is E41 (I do not lead the way) with a logit value of 0.93. The description of the comfort dimension item approval is described in Table 4.2 and Figure 4.4.

Based on Figure 4.4, the item that is the most difficult to agree on is item A2 (I feel a little worried about others) with a value of 1.42 logit. The description of the item endorsement of the conscientiousness dimension is explained in table 4.3 and figure 4.6. Based on Figure 4.6, the item on which it is most difficult to agree is item C48 (I spend a lot of energy at work) with a value of 1.52 logit.

The description of the endorsement of the elements of the neuroticism dimension is described in table 4.4 and figure 4.8. Based on Figure 4.4 shows the item that is more difficult to agree with is item N14 (I easily worry about something) with a value of 0.69 logit. Based on Figure 4.10 shows the item that is most difficult to agree with is item O40 (I use difficult sentences) with a logit value of 1.20.

Based on figure 4.11, it can be seen that out of a total of 70 respondents, there are 22 (31%) respondents who have a high personality tendency to become teacher candidates. Of the 22 respondents who have a high personality tendency, there are 3 male and 19 female respondents. Based on figure 4.12 shows the item that is more difficult to approve is item A37 (I give time to others) with a logit value of 1.22.

Discussion

Students who have an extraversion personality are especially suitable for future teachers who want to teach, because extroversion implies an energetic approach to others easily and to engage in a more socially interactive material world. Students who have a high agreeable personality are very suitable to be future teachers because agreeableness is associated with a harmonious and positive relationship that shows peer acceptance and friendship among children. Students who have a high conscientious personality are people who are good at organizing, organizing things, being punctual and ambitious.

Meanwhile, students with low level of conscientiousness are usually people who do not work on time. Neurotic personality (which includes regret, anxiety, anger, sadness, stress, hatred, mistrust, nervousness, shame, depression, fear, irritability, guilt and laziness) was found to be 34 (49%) out of 70 respondents (prospective teachers) ) ) have a tendency towards the type of personality neuroticism and 33 (48%) of the 70 respondents do not have a tendency towards the type of personality neuroticism. Students high in neurotic personality are individuals who exhibit negative affect and emotions such as remorse.

Students with an open personality type are personality types that describe individuals who proactively evaluate their efforts and value experiences for their own sake. Meanwhile, students with a low level of openness are usually practical, traditional, considered careless and down-to-earth. Where is this research The purpose of this research is to find out the relationship between personality and employee performance.

The personality referred to in this research is the Big Five Personality Model which consists of extroversion, openness, conscientiousness. The result of this research showed that the big five of personality and employee performance are related. People who have this personality type tend to be reliable, direct, selfless, humble, polite, kind, helpful, flexible.

CONCLUSION AND SUGGESTION

Conclusion

Based on the assessment using the Rasch model, the researchers found that all the big five dimensions of personality exist within students. Of the 70 prospective English teacher respondents I studied, all have personality categories of openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism. Some have an openness personality, some have a conscientiousness personality, some have an extroversion personality, some have a pleasant personality and some have a neuroticism personality.

Suggestion
