Observe and Improve
As you observe other speakers there are many questions to consider, for example :
Was the introduction relevant to the topic ?
Which techniques did the speaker use to gain attention ?
Was the conclusion relevant to the topic ?
Which technique did the speaker use to conclude the presentation ?
If the speaker were to start over again with this presenta tion, what suggestions would you make regarding the introduction and conclusion to make the presentation even more effective?
USING NOTES
Good speaker notes can be a lifesaver. Bad notes, however, can damage your delivery, get in your way, or cause more frustration than they’re worth. Investing time in creating your notes pays off. Even
professional presenters who appear to be speaking off the cuff often have teleprompters or cue cards.
Speaking without notes is like walking the tightrope ithout a net—unpredictable and dangerous!
