Learning at Covid-19 Pandemic

Basically, online learning is an educational concept that uses information technology for the teaching and learning process. The use of online learning in the pandemic of this disease can prevent the spread of this virus.

Review of Related Research

In general, in order to reveal the implementation of learning strategies in high-achieving students, it is necessary to comprehensively describe the four learning strategies of students. Based on this research, there are 13 learning strategies used by the two subjects in this study, 13 strategies in the first subject and 6 strategies in the second subject. Another research is from Sri Wahyuni, et al., (2019) on “High achieving learning strategies of students at SMA Negeri 17 Makassar.. The findings of this research are: 1) Students always occupy a place and sit in the front row and always involvement in the learning process , as well as the desire to master each lesson so that each student completes the activities on time, 2) teaching methods used by excellent students; (a) plans lesson plans and other tasks, then carries out these activities according to the planned schedule, including preparation time before bedtime; (b) Reading textbooks that they consider important for reading and understanding, reading in highlighted passages that they find important, making small notes based on what they discover, essential chapters;.

The current research examined the differences between the LASSI scales among low-average and high-achieving college students. The research found that on all the 10-scales the low-achieving students scored significantly lower than the average and high-achieving students. These researchers emphasize that the most important discriminating element differentiating low-achieving students from high-achieving peers was motivation.

Motivation has a significant effect on the use of teaching-learning strategies for high-achieving students (Albaili, 2010). Previous research has similarities with this study, which is all about the strategy of student performance. However, this study is slightly different from the above research, where this current study focuses on the strategies used by high-achieving students and to understand the extent to which the high-achieving students understand the learning materials studied during the Covid-19 pandemic.

RESEARCH METHOD

  • Research Design
  • Research Setting
  • Subject and Informants
  • Data Collection Techniques
  • Data Analysis Techniques
  • The Validity of the Data

Academic writing is one of the subjects that offers the direction of writing, especially in the academic and educational field. Based on the results of the above interviews, their understanding of the material studied is excellent; can be seen from their ability to answer questions during the interview. S1: "Alhamdulillah, I am one of the students who like to ask questions in class during discussions."

If you look more closely, you will see the similarities in the application of the learning strategies of the 9 test subjects. Based on the results of the above interview data, students can understand the material studied by being able to answer questions during interviews. Based on the research results, there are several similarities in the application of the learning strategies of the nine students in this study.

From the results of this study, after focusing on the proposed research, there are 3 kinds of strategies used by nine students in this study. Researcher: How do you feel about going through online learning in this time of the pandemic. Academic writing is one of the subjects that provide writing direction, especially in the academic and educational field.

FINDING AND DISCUSSION

Finding

The note-taking strategy is a strategy widely used by students, it is proven based on the results of interviews with 9 students, 6 out of 9 students use note-taking strategies in the learning process to recall the material explained. In this way, they can save it and request it back from the relevant lecturer, even if they look for references from journals on the internet site or references from YouTube to get information or read the material. They look for references from journals on the internet site or references from YouTube to get information or read the material.

Based on the results of the above data, it is stated that this reading strategy is very effective if the student likes things like reading, this reading strategy is very useful for understanding the material read, and the reading strategy will be ineffective if the student does not like reading activities. They also have problems understanding the material taught by lecturers, especially in subjects related to numbers, such as Statistics. However, everyone must understand the material given by the respective lecturer as it is all good to achieve success in learning.

Question 4: “How far do you understand the material from the lecture, in the last semester, in the 5th semester you learn about academic writing and ECAR. The lesson must be explained directly to the teacher in question, but we were instructed to understand the material itself.”. S9 : "There were no difficulties because the lecturer provided enough media such as videos and books to help understand the material."

Discussion

They will automatically read the material given first and start making summary notes about the material. Excellent and appropriate study habits can make it easier for us to understand the material we study. The signal is terrible; it hinders learning because it can cause one to miss the material that was delivered at that time.

So this summarizes the learning strategies used by English students who excel in learning and the extent to which students understand the material that has been provided during online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. This strategy is used by high performing students in the learning process to understand the material being studied. How well you understand the material that the teacher has provided. during the lecture, in the last semester, in the 5th semester you learn about Academic Writing and ECAR.

Researcher: How much do you understand the material provided by the lecturer during the lecture, in the last semester, in the 5th semester you learn about Academic Writing and ECAR. Researcher: How much do you understand the material given by the lecturer during the lecture, in the last semester, in the 5th. The material is about the cycles in ECAR, the characteristics of ECAR and the study of ECAR journals.

CONCLUSION AND SUGGESTION

Conclusion

Learning strategies have differences for each student, especially for high-achieving students; they have specific strategies to achieve learning goals. Factors that influence students' performance in learning are motivational factors obtained from the students themselves, parents, teachers and even. As for the inhibiting factors in learning during the Covid-19 pandemic, namely unstable signals, reduced enthusiasm, an environment that is not conducive, even cell phone batteries that run out quickly.

Suggestion

The impact of Covid-19 pandemic on online learning process in the college in South Sulawesi. Students' perception of online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic: a survey study of Polish medical students. Especially if we study via Zoom, for example, if the lecturer asks us a question, we try to answer, if there is a discussion, we will also participate.

In addition, I am also active when the lecturer asks questions and I try to answer the lecturer's questions to gain extra points. When the lecturer explained, I first listened to him and then wrote down the main points because I was afraid that I would miss the next material if I wrote a long explanation. But I don't read as often as I take notes, unless the lecturer says there's a quiz or another exam tomorrow.

I also like to read preparation for the question and answer session during the presentation. Researcher: What are your preparations before starting online learning. For example, some courses should be more practical, but because of the pandemic and the online learning system, they only study the theory, so there is no implementation in practice. In that case it will prepare a quota but thank god the guest house has wifi but still get ready for the quota because I'm afraid the wifi is stuck in the middle of the material prepare material books and other stationery to record important points conveyed by the lecturer .

The teacher wants to know that we are collecting assignments and satisfactory answers; That's why every time there's a Zoom class, we do our best to notice this. In my opinion, online learning is less effective because sometimes there is a signal problem, and it is not practical because it will not be the same as a face-to-face meeting which is indeed effective in maximizing skills.
