Narrative text is a type of written text that gives the reader information about past activities or events. An argumentative text is a type of written text that offers viewpoints related to certain socio-economic problems. An expository text is a type of written text that highlights an argument or opinion to the reader.

Novel text is a type of written text that informs the reader about important events of the day and other natural phenomena. A report text is a type of written text that provides information about natural or unnatural phenomena. An anecdote text is a type of written text that tells others about a funny or amusing event.

A review text is a type of written text that evaluates the quality of books and other works. The M" in Murder stands for "mood," the first step in which the individual must try to find a time and place that creates a positive mood.

Conceptual Framework

Because the researcher found that students still have a low ability to read descriptive text. In the first session of Cycle 1, the Pre-Test was conducted to identify the basic knowledge of students' performance in reading descriptive text. The questionnaire was used to know the students' responses to the application of the simulation to help them improve their reading comprehension.

The questionnaire contained a few items and was distributed to all students at the end of the cycle. After the students read the text, the teacher gave the students a descriptive text test. The problem that occurred during the teaching and learning process was that most of the students were inactive and others were disturbing their friend with noise.

From the data, it can be seen the improvement in the average score of students' reading performance through the MURDER strategy. Because the students who got points up to 75 (KKM) only 4 students from 39 students, the researcher continued cycle 2. The material was given in cycle 2 in the same in cycle 1. The teaching and learning process in action same in cycle 1 was started from opening to closing.

In the cycle 2 meeting, the researcher told the students the mistake in the Pre-Test and cycle 1. Most of them made the same mistake when reading descriptive text. Observation was done to know the real condition of students during teaching and learning. In the cycle 2 meeting, the researcher told the students' mistakes made in the Pre-Test and cycle 1.

Based on the observation and the student test, it was known that the teaching and learning to read through the MURDER strategy was satisfactory and gave the students the improvement. The researcher motivated the students by teaching the descriptive text through the MURDER strategy in cycle 1. Considering the result of cycle 1, most of the students were inactive and others disturbed their friend by making noise.

METHOD OF RESEARCH

Location

The reason for choosing this school is because the researcher has ever conducted field experience practice and the researcher has found that students have problems in reading comprehension especially in descriptive text.

The observation is carried out to see if it is done by the teacher suitable with the MURDER strategy and to see the reaction of the students applying the MURDER strategy. In cycle I after the researcher makes planning such as the preparation of materials, the researcher had done an action, the result from the action has shown that the strategy of Killing is suitable or not with the expectations of the researcher. The result from cycle I has been revised and researchers have made a new plan and do the same steps as cycle I in cycle II and got the new result.

This helps the teacher to think through the best way to present the information to the students. Observation sheet was used to observe all conditions that happened during the teaching learning process. In reading descriptive text, the researcher gave a test suitable to measure students' reading comprehension by means of KILL strategy.

The researcher provided descriptive text, the students were expected to understand the text, and then they answered the multiple choice test. The test was taken from students' Handbook Bank Soal Ulangan Umum SMP/MTs by Dr.

Technique of Analyzing Data

Based on the observations, the researcher tests the average pre-test of the students, the scores or abilities of the students none who scored above the KKM. This makes it difficult for students to understand the text and students lack practice in reading, so students get bored while reading the text. According to the description in each cycle, the students' achievements through the MURDER strategy made the students enjoy the teaching and learning process, and because the material given by the teacher was more creative, not monotonous, fun and imaginative.

Before the MURDER strategy was applied, in Pre-Test 28 all students were unable to read, and after this strategy was applied, 10.25 students were able to read in the first cycle, and in the second cycle were all students or 100 able to read . The students got the improvement in reading skills, but the difficulty students faced was reading comprehension. After the cycle, when the researcher was started and the result did not give an effective MURDER strategy in improving the reading comprehension achievement of the students, it continued in the 2nd cycle. The researcher developed a research instrument to be used in teaching reading using the MURDER strategy. We can conclude that the used UMORA strategy as a medium can improve the reading achievement of students.
