Based on the background, the problem statement "Does the use of animated stories in narrative text improve students' writing ability in class VIII of UPTD SMP Negeri 35 Sinjai?". The objective of the study is to find out "the use of animated stories in narrative text improves students' writing ability in class VIII of UPTD SMP Negeri 35 Sinjai". The research was limited to improve students' ability to write narrative texts using animated short stories in class VIII of UPTD SMP Negeri 35 Sinjai.

REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE

Previous Related Finding

The last study by Fadila was about improving students' writing skills in narrative text through film (2015). Her research showed that animated films can improve students' narrative skills. In addition, they are also involved and actively participating in the lesson. They are more enthusiastic and participate more actively in the writing lessons. Where this research is the same to know as the level of students' writing ability, especially writing narrative text.

This means that when the teacher uses animation, students will like the learning process of teaching because it is more interesting. From the statement, it can be said that animation is a good choice for developing students' abilities. Therefore, it is clear that animated stories are the most interesting medium for young students in the written narration.

Animation makes it possible to control the film because there is a work on every picture on the film - every movement and cut is planned in detail so that reflection and analysis can be carried out. Animation can be included in regular teaching situations because it does not take up much space. Based on the explanation of the benefits of using animation, it can be concluded that animation is very useful for teachers to motivate students to learn and to improve students' imagination or creativity.

Material for animation is difficult to change if at any time it can be erroneous or the information contained in it.

Classroom Action Research is a strategic way for teachers to enhance or improve learning services in the classroom. In the planning phase, the researchers prepare a number of procedural actions to improve students' ability to write narrative texts using short animated stories.

In the performance phase, the researchers try to implement certain procedural behaviors formulated in the plan. Observation is the next step to monitor the teaching process and pay close attention to collect data from the results of the action. Reflection means analyzing the results based on the collected data to determine the next action in the next cycle.

After completing the observation process, researchers and teachers reflect on the teaching and learning process and the improvement of students' ability to write narrative texts.

Conceptual Framework

Short animated stories are one of the techniques that teachers can use to help students get ideas and imagination to improve their ability to write narrative text. By using short animated stories, students will understand the plot of the story and can tell the story by writing the story down. At the marking stage, the final version is compared with drafts to gain insight into the development of both content and organization from the planning stage to the final version.

In the final version, the teacher can get information about the impact of short animated stories on students' writing achievements. So, the main purpose of this learning and teaching process is to improve students' writing, especially in terms of content and organization.

Observing all the students' activities in each meeting so that the researcher could measure the students' abilities. The diagnostic test used was to know the students' achievement in writing skill before using the method. The data in the above table shows the students' content writing skill, which is a test of the students' writing skills by calculating the results of the diagnostic test.

The data in the table above shows students' organizational writing skills, which is a test of students' writing skills by calculating diagnostic test scores and using animated stories. Therefore, there was a significant improvement in the students' organization, which was clearly shown in the graph after performing an action in the cycle using short animated stories. Improving students' narrative text writing in terms of content The application of Animated Stories can improve students' ability to write narrative text.

FINDING AND DISCUSSION

Findings

Using animated stories in the form of teaching strategy for English writing skills can improve students' content. The scores of the students on the diagnostic tests are different from those of the students in testing cycle I. Therefore, there was significant clarity in the graph after taking an action in the cycle using short animated stories.

The application of animated stories as one of the teaching methods of English writing can evaluate students' progress toward well-organized writing skills through writing tests, indicating that there is a significant difference between the average score of the diagnostic test and Show Cycle I through Cycle II results as shown in the following table. The students' scores on the diagnostic test are compared with the cycle I and cycle II tests. The mean diagnostic test score was 55, compared to 61.35 for cycle I of the student tests and 78.96 for cycle II of the student tests.

Based on the percentages above, there are significant improvements from the students using Animated Stories. The activity in cycle I of the action phase is the implementation of the lesson plan. This means that every step of the learning process is organized using animated stories in the planning stage.

Finally, in the process of the animated story, it is recommended that the teacher correct the student's mistakes.

Discussion

In addition, by using images or video, students can express their ideas creatively and rewrite what they see in their own words. Table 4.2 shows that before the implementation of Animated Stories, the diagnostic test for students' writing organization is very poor (55), but after the implementation of Animated Stories, the students' writing level has improved and the result of cycle I (61 .35) is larger than the. The benefits of using animated stories as media in teaching are primarily to motivate and engage students to learn.

Based on the data analysis, it can be concluded that the use of animated stories can improve the writing of narrative texts by the students of VIII.1 class of UPTD SMP Negeri 35 Sinjai. Improving students' ability to write narrative texts using short animated stories and mind mapping in class VIII SMP GUPPI Palangka Raya. Improving students' ability to write narrative text by using a digital story in the tenth grade of MA NU 08 Pageruyung-Kendal in the academic year 2015/2016.
