Alhamdulillaahi rabbil ‘aalamiin, the researcher expresses to the almighty God, Allah SWT for the grace, love, mercy, health, help, and opportunity to finish this skripsi, entitled “Improving Students’ Reading Comprehension through Skimming And Scanning Techniques at Ninth Grade Students of SMP Negeri 16 Tanjungpinang. Presented as partial fulfilment of the requirements for the attainment of a Sarjana Pendidikan Degree in English language education in Universitas Maritim Raja Ali Haji.
