DENTAL INDEX TO RESTORE SUB-HEflDINGS (BY POPULAR(?} REQUEST)

In January, 1965, a new system was produced through MEDLARS (Medical Litera- ture Analysis and Retrieval System) and GRACE (Graphic Arts Composing Equipment) of the National Library of Medicine.

From just what logical basis this system was developed is difficult to ascertain, but users of the Index who have found the new format onerous,

inexplicable, and down right frustrating, will find cheer in the news that sub- headings will be restored with the advent of 1966. This applies to the

Index Medicus as well.
