Kiani states that "the usefulness of grammar is also to learn the correct way to achieve proficiency in language in oral and written form."8 This means that grammar is also important in speaking performance. Brown defines fluency as "the ability to speak fluently and precisely."10 This means that fluency is the ability to speak freely without much stopping or hesitation. Reflection analyzed the research process. The researcher would process the data from previous steps so that the researcher would know whether the technique could increase the students' speaking performance or not.

Chaney also points out that "speak is the process of building and sharing meaning through the use of verbal and nonverbal symbols, in different contexts". also happens in many contexts. Furthermore, Richard explains that “performing has been used to convey a double meaning of artistic action.”6 It means that performance is an activity done to deliver a double meaning artistic action. Thus performance can be defined as a complex manner of speech used to express feeling in an artistic action. According to Harmer, the students should be able to pronounce phonemes correctly, use the correct strait and intonation patterns, and also speak in connected speech.7 It means that pronunciation is important in speaking performance.

One of the continuum of speech act types is the ability to simply repeat (imitate) a word or phrase or perhaps a sentence. According to Brown, "transactional language, performed to convey or exchange specific information, is an extensive form of responsive language." that is, transactional language occurs when speakers have a dialogue and exchange some information. This means that the speech performance of speakers or students also depends on affective factors (motivation, self-confidence and anxiety).

This will require dozens of hours of actual speech production - it is essential that the language is actually expressed, otherwise the exercise is useless. This means that the teacher gives an opportunity to the students to improve their way of speaking.

Action Hypothesis

Ingrid says that "shadowing exercises are purely mechanical exercises that, by teaching students to repeat words, can reinforce their natural tendency to stick too closely to the speaker's words."24 In other words, the shadowing technique should be a "simple" technique , because the students are just imitating the speaker. When a teacher decides to use this technique, it is better to be more open. Not only 100% mimicking a native speaker, but also improving your own speaking tone if the grammar and pronunciation are correct.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

The Research Setting

The table below shows the data and the frequency of the students' pre-test score:. But the result of the students' test was better than the students' post-test in cycle I. Moreover, Shadowing Technique can increase the students' speaking performance and help the students to perform the task.

The Subject and Object of Research

Action Plan

From the above definition, we can conclude that classroom action research was research in teaching and learning in the classroom, the purpose of which was to solve a problem or correct something. Action research in the classroom could be used together to find out the problems that the students had in the process of learning English. Collaborative action research can consist of several teachers or groups that have been linked to the research.

In this research, the researcher would prepare MP4/MP3 and use shadowing technique in the classroom. The researcher would prepare the topic of the speech and the teacher would use the shadowing technique in English speaking activities for two meetings. The researcher would process the data from the previous steps so that the researcher would know the result.

The researcher would prepare a topic of speaking and the teacher would apply Shadowing technique in English speaking activity for two meetings.

Data Collecting Technique

Observation was a process of watching or listening to professional action, either as it happened or from a recorded sequence. When collecting data, the researcher observed the students' learning process and entered it into the data sheet. This data consists of the name of the student who was actively involved in the learning process.

The data was made to know the students' development and as a reference for the teacher to arise the participation of the student who had not yet been involved. A test is a set of stimuli presented to an individual to elicit responses on the basis of which a numerical score could be assigned. The researcher would give the students a topic to talk about and they would present it in front of the class.

Documentation was to collect data about the school, the teachers, the students and also the process of teaching learning and the research at SMA N 1 Raman Utara. In this research, the researcher would use field notes to focus on a particular teaching behavior over a period of time. The researcher would take field notes related to the classroom situation, classroom management, classroom interaction between teacher and students or students with students and etc.
