Applications and deadlines are available on the School of Nursing website at http://nursing.iupui.edu/. Students who re-enroll must adhere to the policies and curriculum of the School of Nursing in effect at the time of re-enrollment.

Special Credit Courses

Upon receipt of the CTR, the student must contact the Nursing Academic Advisor at that campus, who will review the CTR, identify the assignments to be completed, and explain the process for achieving advanced standing with credit. It is highly recommended that students complete their general education requirements before enrolling in nursing courses within the RN-BSN program.

Graduate Admissions

New students in the School of Nursing will receive orientation materials in the mail before the start of the semester. To motivate student involvement in opportunities presented through the Indiana University Graduate School, Indiana University School of Nursing, and Indiana University support services.

How to Apply

S.N. Admissions

International applicants must submit proof of passing the Council of Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS) qualifying examination before coming to Indiana University. PhD Admissions

The mobility option allows registered nurses to obtain a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree without the award of the baccalaureate degree in nursing. The PhD Admissions Committee makes decisions and nominates the best candidates for the IU Graduate School.

Awards & Scholarships

Letter from a graduate nursing faculty member with direct dissertation approval who has agreed to be a research mentor because they share an area of ​​research interest with you (letter template should be used). Nursing Informatics

Students will be required to obtain a final overall grade point average of 3.0 or higher to be awarded the certificate. The number of credit hours earned prior to admission to the certificate program that may count toward degree completion. There is no limit to the number of graduate courses that may be taken prior to admission to the certificate program, provided that all course work is completed within a four-year period.

Teaching in Nursing

These students must indicate their participation in the course and also submit a declaration of interests. The maximum time for completing the program is four years, with no significant breaks (i.e. more than two semesters) between courses. This field and the underlying technology are changing too quickly to allow for longer breaks.) Most students participating in this program will be part-time students with full-time jobs. Thus, four years may be required to complete all courses if students take one course per semester.

Certificate Programs

If a student is able to document appropriate graduate course work at another institution, the student may request a transfer of a maximum of 3 credits.

Students already admitted to the Indiana University or Purdue University graduate program are automatically eligible to earn a certificate. Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)

Students who fail a non-clinical course will be placed on academic probation and monitored by MSN AFP. Students who fail a clinical course or more than one course (clinical and/or didactic) within the same semester will be removed from the course. Students who do not complete all degree requirements within a period of six years after initial enrollment will be excluded.

Master of Science in Nursing

Nursing study/dissertation option. Three credit hours of nursing study or 6 credit hours of thesis work. Achieve a 3.0 grade point average by the time the student has completed 42 credit hours of coursework as required by the major department. MSN to PhD may use up to 30 credit hours from their Master of Science in Nursing coursework.

PhD in Nursing Science Program

This focus area includes the prevention and early detection of disabilities across the continuum of care and improving the health and well-being of individuals, families and communities. Improving quality of life in persons with chronic diseases, including epilepsy, stroke and kidney disease. Health systems work to create structures and resources that enable individuals and communities to achieve optimal health.

IUPUI Educational Opportunity Fellowships These fellowships are awarded to encourage graduate students enrolled for a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester and who come from disadvantaged backgrounds to participate in graduate studies. Procedures

Nursing students must be able to send and receive email and add and retrieve attachments. They must be able to search for and access healthcare-related materials online and return to those sites later using saved URLs. You should be able to distinguish between scholarly and popular sources of information online and evaluate sources for overall reliability and credibility.

Graduate and Professional Policies

Students must be able to use Microsoft Word and PowerPoint competently to create and appropriately format written assignments and basic presentations. Before enrolling in nursing courses, faculty expect nursing students to be able to use computers well enough to log on to the Internet to access class content. Students must also be able to log into an email account to communicate with other students and faculty and use a word processing program.

Professional/Technical Standards

Transfer

Intra-core campus transfer requests are assessed individually based on the student's academic record, availability of space in required courses, faculty and facility resources to meet the student's needs, and program outcomes and competencies. Transfer from Other Universities or Colleges Students must be in good academic standing to be eligible to transfer as a nursing or nursing student. Students should consult with an academic advisor at their current university or college before submitting a transfer request.

The IU School of Nursing Alumni Association is led by a Board of Trustees that currently consists of 20 alumni members representing all levels of education offered by the school. In addition to professional, educational and social opportunities, the Alumni Association annually presents awards to students and graduates for outstanding achievements in school, profession and community. NURSING-H 362 Changes in Health II: Practicum (2 cr.) (Traditional and Accelerated) V: All fifth-semester nursing courses; C: H361. Practice (3 cr.)
