Background of the Study
One of the non-linguistic aspects that affect a person's writing ability is the environmental support from parents, classmates and society. Concord refers to the grammatical phenomenon where the form of one constituent of a sentence determines the form in which another constituent of the sentence will appear. It is also of immense importance for one to be aware of the most common grammatical errors that spoil effective writing and speaking.
There is a need for consistent agreement in the combination of the grammatical elements that make up an expression. Concord is concerned with the agreement or rules that determine the relationship between the different parts of the sentence, it is not enough to write, but of great importance is the meaning of what is written. The writing problems of the tenth graders of SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Metro should be followed up in the form of examining the phenomenon of grammar mastery of the students in their writing.
Based on all the above information, the researcher examined the grammatical concordance in the writing of tenth graders of SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Metro.

Therefore, the researcher conducted a qualitative study titled "An Analysis of Grammatical Concordance on Students' Descriptive Writing Documentof the Tenth Graders of SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Metro in the Academic Year of 2020/2021". Exploring the cause of the most common type of grammatical concordance used in the descriptive writing of students of SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Metro tenth graders in the academic year 2020/2021. It is hoped that the result of this research can provide additional information for the students to consider in grammatical concordance in descriptive writing.
In addition, this research is beneficial to make students understand the use of grammatical concordance in descriptive writing, so that the quality of their writing will be better. This research has some advantage to be one of additional references in the teaching of English, especially in the teaching of writing. From this research, it is practically hoped that after knowing the students' problems with grammatical concordance in descriptive writing, the teachers may be able to help the students to solve the problem related to the use of grammatical concordance in writing process.
It is hoped that this research will be one of the most important references for other researchers.

The similarities and differences between the other previous research and this research lie in the research topic and the research method. The difference between this research and the other previous research lies in the study sample. In addition, the third previous research is conducted by Justine Bakuuro with the research title "The Difficulties Ghanaian Senior High School (SHS) Students Encounster in Studying English Grammatical Concord".3 The research sample is the students from Wa Senior High School and Islamic Senior High School.

In the data collection process, the researcher collects the students' writing output to analyze and identify the most frequent type of grammatical agreement in the students' descriptive writing. The description of the research result refers to the research question, including what is the most frequent type of grammatical agreement used in the descriptive writing of the tenth grade students of SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Metro in the academic year.
