TEACHING ASSIGNMENTS

Under my leadership, students from this class presented the findings of their projects to Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard and his staff; Karen Haley, director of the Indianapolis Office of Sustainability; and Joanna Taft, executive director of the Harrison Center for the Arts. Course developed as SPEA contribution for the proposal of the Master of Science in Energy Systems submitted by Dr. The course is also proposed as a new course for the proposed graduate concentration in Sustainable Urban Development.

SERVICES

School of Business at IUPUI to help promising students studying management at Ivy Tech meet credit transfer requirements for admission to the respective schools. As a faculty representative, spoke before classes at Ivy Tech to encourage students to meet with SPEA and Kelly Student Services representatives during the Spring and Fall 2010 semesters. Search Committee was formed to select candidates for a tenure budget and finance position in Public Affairs.

Attended meetings, reviewed materials, met with candidates and participated in selection discussions with other committee members. Was asked in late 2009 to lead efforts to develop a new undergraduate major and a new graduate concentration focused on sustainability. The proposal was approved by the AP faculty in October and by the SPEA faculty in November.

Ad-hoc committee organized by Nancy Lemons to review scholarship candidates and select recipients for SPEA. Participated as faculty to help welcome and introduce students to the school and the program on August 21st and 27th respectively. I made myself available to hear the presentations, meet individually and provide my comments and recommendations to other committees that introduce candidates, including the search that led to the appointment of Dr.

Appointed chair of the task force considering improving education, coordinated the meeting of faculty and staff and reported the results of the discussion back to the PA faculty.
