Hi Subir,
Listed below is a summary of our involvement. This is the first time that the research advisory committee provided an extensive review of all 13 sabbatical applications. This activity was productive for at least two reasons. First, all 13 applications were approved by FAA. Second, based on the caliber of the application, a few of them are now being used as models from FAA to emulate by other units on campus. The committee oversaw and helped initiate the research and writing groups that was implemented early in this academic year. The committee also reviewed all 15 applications for the Summer Research Funding. We also reviewed and discussed action steps for the research component of the SLA 5‐

To the Chairs of the Faculty Committees,
We are headed towards the end of the semester and, more importantly, approaching the end of the academic year. We thus need to file the end-of-the year reports. We are therefore asking each of you to send us a report of your
committee's work during the year. We would like to have it as soon as you can get it to us but certainly before the Faculty Assembly on April 15.
