Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) Kota Surabaya telah menerbitkan salah satu produk utamanya yaitu buku “Kota Surabaya Dalam Angka 2020”. Publikasi ini menyediakan data dari berbagai sektor untuk memberikan gambaran umum tentang keadaan ekonomi, sosial, demografi, dan lain sebagainya di Kota Surabaya.
Dengan memanfaatkan publikasi ini, pelaksanaan pembangunan dan gerak perubahannya di seluruh sektor di Surabaya dapat dicermati secara berkesinambungan. Data yang disajikan dalam publikasi juga dapat digunakan sebagai informasi dasar oleh seluruh lapisan masyarakat untuk berperan serta memantapkan perencanaan, evaluasi, dan pengendalian pembangunan yang terpadu serta berkelanjutan sebagai upaya mendukung otonomi daerah.

By using this publication, the implementation of development and its progress in every sector in Surabaya can be observed continuously. The data presented in this publication can also be used as basic information by all users to participate for performing progressing, evaluating and controlling any developing programs that integrated and continues as an effort to support the regional autonomy.
This publication is continuation of previous publication and has been improved in both quality and quantity. Most tables present information up to year 2016. However, due to the unavailability of the most recent data from the usual sources, the last information presented is the previous year data.
Finally, we would like to thank and express our gratitude for the support and attention given by regional government, official agencies, institutions and organizations in Surabaya city so this publication can be issued. Wilayahnya merupakan daratan rendah dengan ketinggian 3-6 meter diatas permukaan air laut, kecuali di sebelah selatan ketinggian 25- 50 meter diatas permukaan air laut.
Sampai akhir 2019, Kota Surabaya terbagi menjadi 31 kecamatan.
Kecamatan yang wilayahnya paling luas adalah Kecamatan Benowo, yaitu sekitar 23.73 km
2. Sedangkan yang paling kecil adalah kecamatan dengan Simokerto luas wilayah 2.59 km
2.
Wilayah Kota Surabaya bagian utara bagian timur berbatasan dengan Selat Madura, bagian selatan berbatasan dengan Kabupaten Sidoarjo, dan bagian barat berbatasan dengan Kabupaten Gresik.
