In this procedure, by understanding research preparation, the researcher prepares to enter the field and interact with the subject during data collection. And the last is the interaction with the subject during data collection, in this step the researcher interacts with the informants to collect data.
In this step the researcher wrote the opinions about the phenomenon found in the field.
ORGANIZATION OF THESIS
THEORETICAL BACKGROUND
- Language features on male
- Language feature on female
- Factor influenced male and female language
- Culture and Sociolinguistics
Sociolinguistics studies the relationship between language and society with the aim of gaining a better understanding of the structure of language and how language functions in communication.17 In short, sociolinguistics studies the relationship between language and society. Again, people may use different pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar or style in a language for different purposes.18. In this paper, the definition of gender from the sociolinguistic point of view is the distinction between linguistic characteristics used by men and women based on sociocultural behaviors, including speech.
Moreover, the specific language features that differ between women and men are not the same across contexts. The differences in their speech, not only in choice of words or grammar, but also in the way they deliver their speech. In contrast, men tend to pay more attention to the information than the functioning of language itself.
It is assumed if women have lower social status than men, so they will use the standard form in their speech to make equality. It was explained above that gender has brought about differences in linguistic features in males and females. Here in this part, the writer wants to give a specific explanation of what are the linguistic features in men.
Language appears as power to man.. the power over language to determine meaning and their power manifested in the language they used during interaction23. Furthermore, based on the above explanation, men use language as power. In fact, men as a whole are more likely to challenge language and communication norms because they are generally in more powerful positions than women25. In the same way, their purpose in using fences is to make them think that they will not be heard by men.
On the other hand, women also avoid strong swear words like oh my goodness. There are some supporting factors that cause the differences in language features to appear in men and women.

The Special Data Description 1. Subject Of The Study
- Outside the class
- An Example of Linguistic Features between Observer and Male students
Here the researcher has practiced some interviews/conversations about male students at Arrisalah Islamic Boarding School. In fact, male students at Arrisalah Islamic Boarding School absolutely dominated others, especially when it came to speaking English. From the dialogue on Appendix 6, we know that female students are more passive than male students based on reality.
From the dialogue in Appendix 6, it was clear whether female students had fillers as their linguistic feature. From the example above, tag question that was used by female students has its own meaning. When female students from Arrisalah Islamic Boarding School were outside of class, they sometimes talked about gossip.
Here female students tried to emphasize her sentence that Arrisalah Islamic Boarding School is really a good school. Female students did this because they wanted to invite someone to join their conversation. There are differences in the language features of male and female students used by the 10th class of Arrisalah Islamic Boarding School.
Culture has brought about the differences in language characteristics among male and female students of Arrisalah Islamic Boarding School, which students come from different cultural and social backgrounds.
Inside the Class
This case has been mentioned in some books that men always try to dominate in almost all aspects. For example, when the writer was given time to join class X B (male), and she explained the past time to the male students, but they did not pay attention. The male students sometimes used ungrammatical sentences, but they also continued to try to produce grammatical sentences.
They wanted to be seen as active students, but they were unsure of what to say. For example, one of the male students said "the last step to make a chicken egg for friends is..." we have to..." "do you like...?" etc. In parallel situations, they have subjects men discusses, a tendency to focus on things and activities rather than personal experiences and feelings.
Here, the evidence the writer found, when male students were sitting together, they tend to talk about everything. The writer made observations in the classroom and found that the students more often asked each other about the answer to the teacher's question. That is, sometimes male students read the English word based on their knowledge without trying to find out how to pronounce the words correctly.
Boys used more local forms, such as the simplification of consonant clusters, example las' instead of standard final.
Outside the class
- An Example of Linguistic Features between Observer and Female students
- Factors influenced male and female students language
Although Lakoff noted that “women always think with hypercorrect grammar, in reality, sometimes female students are creative in the classroom. Here are several language functions that female students at Arrisalah Islamic Boarding School use outside of the classroom. For example: In class, female students were talking to their friends. "You got the first grade, didn't you?".
As Mesthrie, Rajend says: "a question with a tag invites people to contribute to the conversation".

In addition, students need to pay more attention to their language, whether it is grammatical or not. Because female students should try to speak English confidently, especially when they are in class. This research will help future researchers gain new insight into whether linguistic features can be linked to motivation theory.
